EUC UPGRADES I am still wondering if it's the LG battery cells or the BMS that have a problem in Gotway EUC? i have 5 pack so far 2 have 200cycles now work perfectly then one i drop on concrete floor stop charging at 95.4c sold for pieces two others for no reason stop charging at 96v and the other one 91.4v i did not abuse or do anything pack or bms have a serious issue. also wonder if the Samsung choice will be better in the long run?

Hi. I've bought the EXN HS model. Which is the better firmware to update. I seen two different updates. The C30 and C30 accelerated Stability

Gotway 🔥. Scary wheels still today. Look at the hole in the danm thing the had to have that big to cool down the boards that still overheating years later. It's poor QC and I think the company will begone = begode...

How do you test battery capacity with these crazy 100v wheels?

{tl;dr. This is a bit of a longer answer but it’s worth considering several aspects of battery capacity.} There’s a few different ways to interpret this question, and it depends upon how different people define the term “capacity” for themselves. Some people think Watt-hours will quantify the performance value of capacity through the simple metric distance traveled: range. {This can be crazy-making for rider’s with less experience.} Some believe a voltage-meter (displayed onscreen) is useful to monitor, because it’s a good indicator of both the quality of available electric energy capacity is still available (which reassures range anxiety). Qualitative feedback can be felt while riding as well, and a drop in current flow capacity (as the voltage is reduced towards discharged levels) is part of the experience of active performance management while experiencing every new trip on your wheel. {This can be crazy reassuring.} Battery safety capacity for the preservation of battery against premature damage (to any individual cell) is yet another way to extend lifetime battery capacity. {Here it helps to have BMS features that can track each cell’s temperature and voltage both instantaneously and across one’s ride history. This (also) allows for the user to influence battery performance management through feedback of hazardous condition warnings (beeps) and collect feedback through data collection that can contribute directly both the rider’s knowledge of performance capacity overhead, and to manufacturer’s capacity to make incremental software update improvements. Just knowing the voltage level can express to the rider how hard their wheel can be pushed in the sense of performance overhead capacity. Any rider’s ability to intuitively and comfortably sense when to recharge their wheel for either maximum torque, optimal speed, or regenerative coasting is super helpful in getting an optimal overall experience based upon rider’s needs for a given situation. {Whether optimizing for the racetrack or “hyper-milling” to get home on a cold night, knowing how to influence/manage battery capacity in the moment can be crucial.} Another way to see battery capacity is how many more years can I use any given battery. Effectively, the higher current demand creates heat on the MOSFETS (and many other electronic components) and these (can and do) fail in mostly predicable ways. {This is *most often* a good thing.} Safely may be experienced without cut-outs through the feedback of pedal tilt-back, which’s the way for your wheel to gently remind the rider that “duty-cycle” limitations are exceed… {so, just chill on excessive power demands (at every voltage level) but especially chill when the “instantaneous voltage under load” is in the lower 50% of the charge depletion range.} Luckily, the control boards are designed to fail at various points (mostly intentionally and by design), which reduces repair costs for the wheel’s owners. The control board gets sacrificed last, whenever possible. {Of course, it’s preferred to sacrifice the rider last but it’s not always possible 🥺… as the Darwin awards do attest. 😏 } On some newer and future models, the batteries are also prioritized for both instantaneous performance capacity available and for long-term battery capacity“health”; with high safety margins. For example, over-current protection is implemented in several different ways in the design of BMS’ features, who has evolved well over the past decade and may be perfected within the next decade. {It’s actually impressive to see these features get incorporated into the wheels regularly and making continuous incremental improvements in electronic design innovations and history of updating both software and hardware until the optimal algorithms for data collection and interpretation can extend the wheel’s longevity of use. This too represents long-term maximum safety available, which can be measured both quantitatively and qualitatively as a sign of battery capacity. 😎 There are many ways to test and experience different aspects of each type of meaning of battery capacity, and the implementation and effects on rider experience could be explained in detail but I hope this overview helps clarify the question you asked. These wheels are “crazy” (in that they’re a lot of fun) and they’re getting better with every design iteration. At any level of rider experience and wheel performance capacity, the question of how to test battery capacity is both useful and quite nuanced. Hope this interpretation helps by implying that there are some capacities that are “baked into” the physical design, some “baked into” the software version, and some capacities that are “baked into” the rider’s experience and observational capacity, where each aspect of understanding both consciously and subconsciously contributes to the joy of electric unicycling. {Because… (both literally and figuratively) your mileage may vary.}
