Kinda think that Zos Kia Cultus is their best, though I like more Satanica. Ain't gonna do a top, 'cause I didn't listened to all of them. But I'd say that from Demigod onward, they spiraled down... (so much, that I didn't listened to their last... 2 albums. Lost interest in this band). 'Til Zos, they were searching for their place or something... the music was more alive. After that, most of their songs seem re-hashed and they tamed too much their sound.

Agreed on Pandemonic incantations. It‘s no pure BM anymore and not the super well written DM they released with the following albums. Hard to rank the rest… 12. Pandemonic incantations 11. Evangelion 10. Grom 9. Sventevith 8. I loved you at your darkest 7. Demigod 6. The apostasy 5. The satanist 4. Satanica 3. Zos kia cultus 2. Thelema.6 1. Opvs contra natvram 1-5 can change positions depending on the day and mood. ;-) In general I loved the period from Satanica to Zos kia cultus.

The Apostasy is King above all of the other albums. It's one of my favorite metal albums of all time. There was a time when it was my favorite album. It's a perfect blend of the intensity/speed of Morbid Angel's first three albums and the complexity and Middle-Eastern weirdness of Nile. The production is superb. This is easily one of the most engaging albums of all time. I have borrowed riffs from this album for some of my own songs and, holy heck, is it fun. The awful production on the early albums makes them difficult to listen to. The recent atmospheric-ish black metal albums suck ass. It's really difficult to get through them. The middle death metal era is amazing. I feel like those albums along with the tech death scene revived extreme metal in the 2000's from the slump it faced in the late 90's.

Anything after Demigod is just kinda boring to me. Demigod might be my favorite. Zos Kia Cultus is right up there and Satanica was my introduction. Those 3 are my top 3. For the black metal stuff i really like the Demonica collection. I got the gold limited edition used years ago.

New one is listenable, I'd place it alongside ZKC & Apostasy at A-Tier. But Demigod & Evangelion is a cut above the rest (S Tier). I actually like the earlier black metal stuff Grom & Pandemonic are B-Tier for me, Thelema & The Satanist are D-Tier, Satanica & Storming the Baltic (E-Tier), ILYAYD(F-Tier, not listenable at all).
