In current CANON due to their feeble mindness and rejection of a neo empire the first order was able to annihilation multiple planets. While in legends their anti war and scaredness of any sort of military led to over 365 trillion dead in the Yuuzhan Vong War because they even refused to believe they were getting invaded so whole planets were enslaved and genocided till the stupid corrupt New Republic actually mounted a proper military and defense. After reading the comments, I'm amazed that most people fanatically support the Galactic Empire. 🤨 No doubt the Empire was a powerful force in the region and corruption was suppressed, unlike the Galactic Republic, but supporting an Empire that has committed many crimes is perhaps too much. It's a simple movie but it didn't affect people as originally expected, in the original trilogy George Lucas portrayed the Empire as the personification of total evil and the Republic as good, but Disney broke the rules of this universe, although it didn't turn out badly)
