Thank u sir. This is the video that i needed!! I managed to use my old mi router 4c as the router to broadcast the 2.4g signal from first flr to second. Then i put my mi router ac2100 dual band (wireless repeater) in second flr to pick up the 2.4ghz then re-broadcast via 5ghz. And it works!!! Im getting between 80-90% from my original ISP speed in the first floor. Previously im just getting about 50% via 2.4ghz broadcast. You just saved me dude. I was convinced to put a hard lan wire from first floor to second floor just to get the most from my ISP. My plan is to buy a better router since i just used my old mi router 4c (2.4ghz only) for this tes. Thank you so much!!!

before i watched this video i already setup a router broadcasting both 2.4ghz (for phones and laptops) and 5ghz (a signal to repeat) and then the 5ghz was picked up by my repeater/router to my desktop computer via lan cable and then i hide the 5ghz SSID on this repeater.. i think this is already stable and fast to my wired desktop and other wireless devices.. thanks for the video

Great video! This is pretty much what I have: the secondary Dual Band Router connects with my primary Router using the 2.4 GHz as a backhaul. I am not broadcasting 2.4 GHz at the secondary Router. On the second Router, we have wired and 5 GHz networks. No complaints! 🙂

Hello. If I have a drone which transmit its video on the 5.8ghz ac wifi band and I want to connect to the drone with a phone which only supports 2.4ghz wifi can I use a dual band repeater for that ? To repeat the 5.8ghz drone access point as a 2.4ghz access point ? I am looking at a specific repeater on aliexpress. Not sure if I can post a link in a youtube comment ? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Is it possible to connect a dual band repeater to a single band 2.4 ghz wifi router? I was thinking of doing this to reduce interference from a wireless mouse.

how does it work with a dual band extender to a single band router? is that pointless? should I upgrade the router to dual band as well?
@Behfor3 жыл бұрын
It's better to have a dual band router too, however using a dual band repeater with a single band router is not that much pointless either because the repeater can connect to the router using the 2.4 GHz band and then rebroadcast using the 5GHz band which as explained in the video is much better than rebroadcasting with 2.4GHz band.

@@Behfor thanks! I'll keep the same router for now maybe upgrade later.

Hey I have a similar setup like your AP & REPEATER setup, but I'm not using asus and mine is only 2.4Ghz single band. So my problem is when I connect my laptop with ethernet cable to the repeater, It would get full speed like the primary router on speedtest.net, but when I connect wirelessly to the repeater, it'll get 60% speed at the max. If I change my repeater to dual band, and repeating using the 2.4Ghz while my laptop is connected to the 5Ghz, will this solve the problem?? Any response would be greatly appreciated! THANKS

How come using the channel 44 as a backhaul and broadcast was less reliable? this is not a DFS channel so it shouldn't be affected near airports
@Behfor4 жыл бұрын
Good eyes and good question :-) I actually meant I had issues with the 5 GHz band (obviously one of the DFS channels of the 5GHz band) and I did not mean the channel 44 of the 5 GHz band, sorry about the confusion.
