Nicola is a Light Summer and natural cool toned blonde, so pale neutral colors look best on her. The Penelope hair is just slightly out of color harmony for her, which looks quite striking.

@@lilacfunk As Penelope, they do a beautiful strawberry blonde. But to be fully in-harmony as a light summer I would make the bright strawberry blonde more cool toned and just slightly ashier. With the Penelope shade she can pull into Light Spring as well, that's a very Light Spring color and that's why it reads as striking. Blonde for her is very pretty and harmonious - she's a natural level 7 and lightens her ends. But it looks in harmony with her because she's so light.

I'm so glad there's a feature about this dress. From the first moment, I was in love with it and then when I noticed the beautiful back and the way it moved . . . I swooned. So perfectly designed, proportioned and made. I think Nicola was born to wear that dress.

Perfect dress to showcase - it was so stunning, in a season where my jaw literally dropped every time Pen showed up onscreen post makeover. When you make a dress that showcases the gorgeous person in it but it's still stunning in itself, you really won. Bravo/brava to the team!!!

All of the costumes are amazing pieces of artwork, and Penelope's wardrobe (besides being exquisitely beautiful), tells her story and evolution. The fabrics, the colors, the textures, the craftsmanship - it's so totally amazing - a true visual feast. I find myself watching these episodes over and over again just to see the costumes, jewelry, sets, they are so intricate you just cant take it all in. Also, can I just say that Kresita's wardrobe is also amazing and just like Pen, tells her story throughout the season. That red dress, those red "wings" (exaggerated bow) when she makes her entrance to announce she will be publishing.... pure genius!!!! And the wigs.... and the sets.... OMG so detailed, just perfection!!!

John Glaser is the John malkovich of fashion. Sayer is wonderful. I wish I was part of the show just to have them design for me too. They know bodies and movement so well.
