If Linares loses this one I hope he will retire. He´s done so well in boxing and it´s been amazing watching him box. But even though he still got lots of motivation he can not win against father time. Better to retire and spend time with his family and keeping his health. But I will say that he looks amazing despite his age and if someone can make a comeback it is him. Still has a chance to win against Haney if he wins this one. He was competitive against Haney but started too late to let his hands go in their match.

I do not see what all the moaning is about. It is an excellent tune up fight for Jack who needs it after his time out of the ring. Added intrigue in that Linares can do the business and seems super motivated. This could be for Catterall what Klitschko was to AJ. One man on the way up and the other fighting for his right to keep fighting. Linares loses: retirement (and no fairly fit fighting man wants that). Jack wins: world title fights to come. Yes, we are all aware of the injustice done to Jack in the Taylor fight. But he has to rebuild after the subsequent inactivity before stepping through the ropes again for a top honours title. A statement win here will signal Jack is ready. Here's hoping Jack can prove the point!

In fact, all the of the last guys who beat Linares looked MUCH more impressive The judges will absolutely be on Catterall's side, but the early fight will likely go to Linares until he tires out. But don't be surprised by a Linares stoppage upset. Linares may be old, but he's looking more impressive still than the younger Catterall. As someone who's never lost a boxing bet yet, I refuse to bet on this one because it could easily go either way

Not great this. Linares is 38 has lost 5 of his last 8 ,he’s on a 3 fight losing streak and is not rated in the top 15 by any major governing body.I can’t see what this fight does for Catterall at this stage of his career.

Agreed. But Linares is a name. A 3 weight world champ with great wins/fights on these shores. Easy way for Jack to tick over against a credible name, even if he be way past it. Clever.

con todo lo buen boxeador que fue en su buena época desaprovecho mucho le faltava eso que llaman en el boxeo el instinto acesino , a cânon lo estuvo a ponto del nocaut en el primer raun y lo desaprovecho y fue nokeado por un pujil muy inferior a el igualmente paso con tonson y tambien fue nokeado, linares perdido ahora toda condicion de buen boxeador le aconsejaria que se retire y busque otro ofício aun esta joven ....

Poor fight this. Caterall can argue he's no 1 at 140lbs. Linares was a wonderful talent at 126, 130, 135. Lost last three and been Ko'd at 140. Caterall needs to be a threat not the ghost of a legend.
