Jelani , It was hella-fresh - I was born in late 60's , became West Coast B Boy in '83 / it was really a treasure hunt to find the vinyl & DJs weren't playing Rap on radio until KDAY station. So u had to be a B Boy to know where the dance-battles were & trade music. Today is great bc u have unlimited resources but it's too EZ & available so there is no hunt which is the fun part.
