Behind the Build - Ladder 2, Clifton, NJ

The August 2024 featured apparatus on the @fireandsafetynj Calendar project is Ladder 2, Clifton, NJ Fire Department. Delivered in May 2022, this months Behind the Build series focuses on the construction and design features of this Pierce Arrow XT 105' Heavy Duty Steel Aerial Ladder. This true truck (no pump) boasts a Cummins X15 565 HP engine with TAK-4 independent front suspension. A tremendous amount of work went into the build, from design to delivery, the process involved members from the backseat to the front office. The driverside is set up for firefighting and the officer's side is outfitted for vehicle extrication and rescue duties. A well thought out design that involved upfitting by the crew at Fire and Safety Services.
