I looked up this video because I was getting that vibe from the song, that Christian idea of growth and joy from suffering. I grew up Christian and back when I still was, but had discovered the goth scene, I thought it very much in accord. The idea of pain, suffering and death being beautiful or worthwhile, not something to run away from. I have read saints with a similar thesis to this song.
