Finally got to go here last night and they give you a few slices of pastrami while they make your sandwich. Any way the pastrami literally melts in your mouth. No words. It blew me away. Expensive as hell but worth it as they pack on the meat and did I mention it literally melts in your mouth! The flavors were unbelievable! They even have two security guards at the door lol I recommend you go here and walk towards the bars and clubs and get some drinks and enjoy the unique area and then grab some 99c pizza!

Had my first pastrami sandwich at Katz's in 1969. I was back in NYC with my son in January and we had the iconic pastrami sandwich. There are few things I can eat now that I can say are as good as they were in 1969.....Katz's Pastrami on rye is on the TOP! Please don't change!

Just been there last week after dreaming for years to try their pastrami sandwich as I live in Uk. Sadly the bread tasted very old...pity as the rest was really nice. Nowadays our family regularly gets mail requests for donations to our county food bank, and to Feeding America. And in this video and others portraying Katz's, we see the carvers discarding entirely edible yet possible less 'attractive' portions of the pastrami! Why does Katz have a policy like that? Where is that discarded meat going? Don't they realize the need other families have for that food? Where is their social conscience? If they gathered together fhat cut away meat and bundled it (within health standards) to food tables of needy people, would it be so difficult? Jake Dell, think about that suggestion, it would be a wonderful mitzvah.

dmfub2348 you will be sprised how much of a bargain you are getting: the meat they're using is the créme de la créme of meat. 1 kilogramme of this meat cost +- $500 (this is from a mcdonalds cow with no certificate ) plus $ 100 for the "but" certificate (it's kosher, but... ) plus $ 250 for the it's kinda kosher cretificate plus $500 for the glatt kosher plus $1000 for the "this will make most rabbi's want to eat more kosher then they already do"certificate katz uses the gladt so $1000 per kilogramme. each sandwich needs about 100 grammes of meat. did i mention taxes?, insurance?, maintenence?, paycheques? if they charged less they would go bankrupt. they're litteraly scraping togedder pennies
