Behind the Rocks (Tip Toe) - Easter Jeep Safari 2022 - Day 3 [ep 62]

From a horrific accident, to busted diffs and bent bumpers, todays adventure was one for the record books.
Hello and welcome back! We are on day three of the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari, and today we completed Behind the Rocks - Tip Toe. This trail is rated at a 5, and we definitely felt every single part of it.
During this trail we witnessed a pretty terrible accident, which left those of us who witnessed it, a little bothered for the rest of the day.
Aside from the accident, this was definitely the most intense trail that we've been on yet!

Working paramedic here - spotted this clip on an EMS group - knew it was @ EJS. That guy had a 4 leaf clover in his pocket, a lucky rabbit's foot on his keychain, a guardian angel riding shotgun and better go buy a lotto ticket. Very glad it worked out, that could/should have been a much different outcome.

Thanks Geoff. Yeah we did. We were on Behind the Rocks Tip Toe - it intersects High Dive Canyon using the bypass for High Dive, then carries on through to Hummer Hill.

You are a pleasure to see, out with your family. Just wondering, did you do your gearing to match your 37's? It made all the difference on my JT with 37's, I did 5.13's and the Rock gardens are much more manageable. Looking fwd to seeing more.

Great question! We actually just needed a vehicle to flat tow. And this was the one they had on the lot. And then we fell down the rabbit hole that is the Jeep world! In all our trails we've not really been hindered by the absence of a front locker. Used the rear locker plenty of times in places here though!

Are you on the aev spacer lift and 37s? It would be nice if you put a list of your mods in the description for easy reference. Nice video, I just got a Mojave a couple months ago, going to Sedona next week to run broken arrow, but that’s nothing compared to this trail.

That's a good idea Mike, we'll start adding that. We're on the 1.5" Rock Krawler spacer lift and 37's, running a Synergy 5x5 wheel spacer. Sedona is amazing!! Have a wonderful time.

Wow - that was an epically stupid decision for that spotter guy to make. There's a really good reason they don't allow spotter ropes to be wrapped around your hand or body, and NO one should EVER put their body in-between a moving 3 ton object and an immovable slab of rock. I hope he realizes just how lucky he was to get outta that potentially deadly situation with only a few bumps & bruises and remembers that lesson next time.

Yeah and he realizes that. But it was a split second decision, and since we weren't in that position we couldn't predict how we would even react. It's definitely a good clip to gain valuable insight and perhaps learn a lesson or two from. You're right though, he was extremely lucky.

Who the hell was spotting the driver on high dive? Dropping your front passenger into that hole is a guaranteed endo. Poor spotting, worse driving, and absolute brain death in the guy that thought he could grab the Jeep and keep it from going over. Sheesh!

Every time I see someone reach for a jeep or any 4x4 that looks like it might flip or roll I cringe. Not a smart thing to do.
