Behind the Scenes: ’16 Games, Part 6

Executive Producer Sevan Matossian gives us behind-the-scenes access to the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games. For the athletes who have dedicated their lives to training, the stacked competition leaves little margin for error. Watch as Matossian captures the most riveting, comical and saddening moments of the quest to find the Fittest on Earth.
In Part 6, the competition concludes and it’s time to find out who is the Fittest on Earth. After a more-than-dominant weekend, Mat Fraser improves on last year’s second-place finish. The race between reigning champion Katrin Davidsdottir and 2015 second-place finisher Tia-Clair Toomey is closer than ever, but Davidsdottir retains her crown.

Behind scenes was my first exposure of crossfit ( 2011 ) & it's really a shame that it's now being charged to view. They would make more money on the back end of all the people like myself who took up crossfit after viewing the series.

These videos are so well done for a reason and see the $6 as a donation to how much we like that they put out this stuff. I just paid it for a month and am having a great time going through all the footage, so well done too. You'll find that it's worth it :)

You should be able to get these for free if you signed up to the Open at least. Like, Sevan definitely deserves paying for this great content, but...come on. Everyone who signed up to the Open has played their small part in making this event a possibility.

Sevan is getting paid. And it is not like the content they put up on youtube is free anyway. It is ad-supported or at least is supposed to be. And not to mention that this serves as an advertisement for the crossfit itself as well as many sponsors that appear in the video (indirectly).

The network that carries the Super Bowl pays the NFL millions and millions to carry it, then the network makes it money back by charging even more millions for for commercials. So, NO the NFL does not give the Super Bowl away for free

It’s odd seeing so many women on hgh & sarms. Hey god bless them I wish it was legal & they could talk about it. I’m looking at the men too here. Wow, saw that the behind scenes crossfit games '16 was online on utube (Vids 1 -6), I watched part one and then decided to watch the rest the next day, but they were quickly taken down. I should have watched them all when I had the chance. Now in order to view them they (crossfit) want you to subscribe. I mean are they not making enough money off the games, regionals, the open and all the boxes that have opened up around they world? Couldn’t they give viewers this opportunity to view the vids without having to take money from them for this too? Man, talk about greed!

I love these. I've got 2014 & 2015 on file; always a treat to go back into the Games and relive the action. As for access and payment... I'm kinda torn. On the one hand, the production values are so, so high, and the amount of hard work and dedication that went into them extraordinary...but on the other, I doubt I'd pay, in the same way I don't pay for porn or music videos. (I'm dreading any changes in how they're going to broadcast the 2017 Games, because I have enjoyed watching the full competitions for two years now on KZbin.) 'Something for nothing'? Perhaps. But to me, at this stage of the game (no pun intended), these videos are well constructed promos/advertisements/commercials for CrossFit, ROGUE and Reebok. (Never mind the athletes themselves.) The more interest in the activity, the more CrossFitters, the more CrossFitters, the more CrossFit boxes, the more fees, yadda, yadda, yadda.

to further other comments. its sad how when cross fit first started it was talked about how they were revolutionizing how events and the exposure of the sport was shown. It was all free and available like the workouts. with everything as the sport grows and the sponsors and the affiliate fees and the desire for more exposure to content, so does the greed of the all mighty dollar. 40:30 deadlift is probably the safest thing your athletes could do if with right form, hand stand walks, muscle ups, snatches, power clean, is all super hard on your shoulders and knees, deadlift is safe if you keep your back contracted and core tight

Justin Altman in my opinion it would be OK if you wouldn't have to pay a fee for everything. The affiliates have to pay a fee to HQ, you have to pay for the open... I would expect them to do something like that for free at least.
