Dont hate the player,hate the game. These guy mastered the game. And they are getting the paper. Mat has won over 500k in the last 3 years. No even counting endorsements. Klappersen, true, "There's no one giant step that will get you from where you are to where you want to be." But what separates you from the ones who make it big isn't talent, it's the everyday stuff...so stop complaining in KZbin comments and go change something, make a better decision. You want to become better than average? Then it starts with today. Here are some quotes to motivate your lazy ass..... "Competence is often what people aim for as an endpoint. Most people sit somewhere around that point. They've got some sort of skill set and the sembalance of drive; they want to be good...they shrug and tell themselves, Meh I'm good enough." "Commitment at this level means being focused on each minute of everyday as a space to be perfected. It means devoting yourself to what others see as meaningless detail." "Behind most every talented person who has become a massive success is a daily schedule of grind, hours of suck, and a whole string of difficult, lonely moments working on the tiniest details that will get them where they want to go." "People want to boil down elite achievements to "born with it" talent; it gives them an excuse for why they're not at the same level. They don't want to hear about the hours upon hours upon hours of patient, meticulous practice that achiever went through to get where they are."
@aabb1166
@aabb1166 6 жыл бұрын
My point is the psychology, my point is _positivity_ . "dispite probably being better than most at the beginning anyway" - my point is that we shouldn't focus on that. How do we know when they started? "Teenagers heads"? - being a teenager is a perfect time to start! You embrace the hard work?...so you are just sitting back and watching others succeed and not working hard yourself. Just because you haven't gotten anywhere doesn't mean that others can't. There's always going to come a point where it's "too late" if you are 50 years old and want to work for NASA and be an astronaut then that's probably not going to happen..it's not realistic...you can't do annnnything you want but it all has to do with proper goal setting: *S.M.A.R.T goals: Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Relevant. Time Bound* As I said before, society always just shrugs at highly talented people and we think we can't be like that, people just look at elite achievements and think they are born with it. I think sometimes people don't realize how much actual hard work and long hours go into getting yourself to the top or even just where you want to be. Don't be disappointed with the results you didn't get, with the work you didn't put in. It's about doing the little things and details everyday that people aren't going to even pay attention to, that's how you'll achieve excellence. Anybody can strive for that. My other point for you specifically is to change the way you think, if you continue to think like that and that you can't achieve high level goals if you simply put your mind and focus toward it, it's never going to happen. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. In the words of Mat Fraser's coach, "if you talk about things that are outside of your control, things that could diminish your performance, you will see and experience more of those things. *If your story is telling you you're not good enough, not smart enough, too old, too young, or can't do it, your subconscious will believe you.* "

Wasn't Lance Armstrong on anabolic steroids, as well as, PED concoctions and blood doping. That guy was scrawny as ef but look how he steam rolled the competition. You can clearly tell in some cases that people like Rich Froning at late stages of the crossfit games looked like the workouts didn't even hurt or gas him one bit while everyone else flopped around like fish. There are many forms of roids too btw. Anabolics which everyone accuses these athlestes of help maintain muscle mass while cutting, which these athletes do to boost their cardiovascular capabilities. They are on the same routines as every other paid to win athlete out there. Don't just assume based on looks. Performance is a notable tell a lot of the time too.

If he had massively improved his results at 2016 I'd say PEDs all the way. You don't get that kind of improvement over time if you've competed at elit level for like five years or more. No way. After 25 years of age the body does not get better as time goes by. You improve but you improve slower and slower. Combine that with someone who has already passed the 10000 hour mark and is close to his maximum capacity and you will either stagnate or lose that edge. Technique is possible to improve at that point but you won't get stronger.

True, "fit" is pretty relative. Although Crossfit takes into consideration all the aspects and principles that make up sport, fitness, and skill. You call it "pure", but that's the specific sport you list. Where as CrossFit includes running, power lifting, gymnastics and more so it forces the athletes to be mainly a generalist and not a sport specific specialist. "CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains"

I wouldn't use the word comforting as I wouldn't wish intense anxiety bordering on panic on anyone. I give David Goggins the title of fittest man. Having the endurance to run 205 miles, yet break the 24 hour pull up record. Running Ultra's at 190lb, while most ultra runners weigh 120-140lb. Master of his body weight, yet being able to to deadlift 405 without training it. All while running 100+ miles a week, and logging 700 mile cycling weeks. The guy also has done 3 hell weeks in a year, which no one has ever done. He became a Navy SEAL as well. Once ran 800 miles in 8 weeks. What's scary is he's in the best shape of his life even now after recovering from a hole in his heart his whole life. I'm pretty sure he's won Ironman, Ultraman races. I know he got second in one of his first races, and he destroyed his bike during the same race. I think the ultra is a 6.2 mile swim, over 100 miles biking, and a marathon. These guys are two different athletes, but considering David is much more of a hybrid athlete. David Goggins is the fittest man alive.

@@jblake615 Depends on your definition of fittest man. I give goggins the edge because he's multidimensional with his fitness. The ability to lift heavy weights, master body weight, and run over 200 miles. If I was going to battle, I choose this guy over someone whose just good at crossfit. Goggins workouts are likely way more sadistic and twisted than this guy as well. He wouldn't be whipped in a workout. I doubt he could lift more obviously but that's not what he trains. But could Mat train how goggins does daily? I highly doubt it.

I love how when people see a great physic from any athlete they immediately resort to saying they are on roids or hate on the sport and what hard work and effort they put in. Its honestly hilarious

I have great admiration for your dedication and perseverance... it takes enormous mental will. There are different types of fitness. You wouldn't do well in a deep swimming pool against a high school water polo player, let alone a world class polo player. It all depends on what you train for.

It is really fascinating to watch the journey of crossfit athletes or any athlete actually. How their bodies change and grow as they continue their work. Mat from 2 years ago is not the same Mat as in this video I can only imagine what he looks like this summer.
