In a 60 minute event Mat Fraser got a 60 second penalty. In an event that's less than 30 seconds, a 0.5 second penalty would be equal to that. But the penalty was dumb anyways. Knocked her and Pat Velner completely out of the games
@moonnoodles45395 жыл бұрын
It didnt make any sense. 2 years ago when Kara Webb/Saunders didn't do all the lifts and missed 3 they timed her other stuff and decided to just add 6 seconds to her score. No penalty just using her stats to make it fair. Why couldn't they do that here?

45:37 Adding a 10 second penalty to Brooke’s time is the most absurd thing in this years games....actually this whole new system is. 😤
@davidjohnson42222 жыл бұрын
completely absurd; because she touched a yellow line? Technically, she wasn't outside her line, she just touched it and now she is out of the games. What logic was used to determine that and a 10 second penalty?
@SuperDan10065 жыл бұрын
I’m blown away that a 10 second penalty was added to Brooke Wells’ time and essentially eliminated her from the games. She’s a top competitor. A one second penalty in this type of event is devastating, why does a 10 second penalty exist? These athletes work all year to be able to compete at this level. Terrible.

Congrats Rogue, you made me lose interest in these events. You have timechips and such and still have to identify the athletes progressing to the next round manually? Same with the commentators. They use what they see on their screens but clearly have no access to the data of the timechips. In 44:16 you can see a screen showing "time to beat xx:xx", while the commentators are still guessing if 29 seconds will be enough. You should start working together with the teams providing the coverage for your events.

Some athletes like Daviddottir have clear abs yet their belly looks kind of inflated. Any reason for that?
@thinkforyourself21093 жыл бұрын
Good question. One answer I saw online (not sure if it's true; use your own judgement): "they do so many squats that most get an anterior pelvic tilt that makes them stick their bellies out more ... it is most likely excessive lumbar lordosis/anterior pelvic tilt. We use our lumbar erectors so much, perhaps sometimes when we shouldn’t, that they get over facilitated. Constantly forcing that arched position. That’s why you see a lot of these girls, lean, six packs, but distended bellies. The TVA is the muscle that keeps the belly tight, and it isn’t strong enough due to the disproportionate use of the erectors."
