I love Aimpoint so much, I had an Aimpoint comp m4 on my HK416N whilst in the Norwegian Navy, I could never ask for a more reliable optic, it survived through the could -30C weather of Northern Norway, and the wet summers. dropped it in the ground, dragged it through mud, still it functioned perfectly, such an awesome product and company, many kudos to Aimpoint!

Sondre Midtsund Sounds like a nice setup. Although I do have a question. I have heard on some posts that some Norwegian soldiers, the older ones that is who previously used the AG-3, don't care for the HK416. The main complaints that I have heard are jamming in the extreme cold and lack of stopping power compared to the AG-3. Now the latter is a given with 5.56, especially compared to a full power 7.62 battle rifle but I was wondering about the former. You said the sight survived the weather and mud just fine, what about the rifle?
@neoxenia70149 жыл бұрын
The 416 had a tendency of jamming during extreme cold temperatures -20-30 celcius. Specially when exiting a warm vehicle, tent or building, condensation would form and freeze the bolt stuck. Mud, water and sand was rarely a problem, don't have much experience with the AG3 (G3) but i think it's a couple of steps below the 416 in reliability

Sondre Midtsund I used the Aimpoint on the AK4 (AG3) and it's really marvelous. The G3 has a tendency to be very prone to spread if you don't hold the weapon close to 90 degrees vertical. That is due to how the sight works. The Aimpoint takes that problem out of the equation and you just have to put the red dot on the target and you will hit regardless if you have it a bit slanted.

US Militia here, in decent temps (0-100 degrees F) ive had my aimpoint comp M2/M68 on a PTR 91 (G3 clone) for a little while. it is the best setup I could ask for. this thing is as solid as solid gets. it will no doubt last me as long as I have batteries for the aimpoint and ammo for the rifle. I trust my life, in the most extreme situations with this set up. There is nothing bad to say at all about this. Once I grab my rifle, I know everything will work no matter what. there is nothing but comfort behind such a combination of things.

The developing of military red dot sights by Aimpoint is interesting. Swedish army: We want a red dot sight that can do this and that and hold forever (kind of). Manufactors of red dot sights: That's not possible. Aimpoint: Hold my cup of coffee... I loved to get my Aimpoint rds on my Ak4B (Swedish variant of H&K G3). Only detail I was less happy with is that it made me a less good shooter at ranges below 250 meters compared to shooting with the iron sights.

It's my #1 Red Dot Sight. #2 is my Trijicon ACOG 4x32. #3 is my EOTech EXPS3, #4 is my Sig5 XDR and #5 is my Holosun 515C-M. Hoo Raa Aimpoint. There is none better. IMO

Lovely, if only the Swedish army still used conscription like they did until a couple of years ago. If only they could actually afford to buy basic stuff that an army needs.

Unture. There are several buildings belonging to companies and government cells in USA that raise flags from other nationalities due to close cooperation with those countries.

@@lgdurocher Diplomatic building such as embassies, don't count.. Americans are very adamant in not recognizing other cultures and nationalities, in thinking that America is better than everybody else and that the rest of the world is below America. they have the bad type of patriotism. Granted, not all Americans are like that naturally. It's a matter of education, Americans are raised to think like that, they hardly even learn geography outside the USA. The various European communities that make up White America, are struggling to keep their cultural identity and self determination My father is from New Braunfels Texas (big German community), he's a Texan German, and when he put up an American and German flag side by side in our home in America, he was bullied into taking down the German flag. Likewise, the German language in Texas suffered an extermination campaign by the USA government (the USA doesn't even have an official language), the German language in Texas goes back to the early 1800's, in other German communities in the USA, like the Titus region in New York, or the Dutch language in Pennsylvania, or the Swedish language in Indiana, the Norwegian language in South Dakota, etc, they go back even older. We are struggling to keep the German language alive but we are succeeding against the odds by simply speaking it
