In this Season 2 episode of Tac TV, I meet with Matthias Tilly who work in Product Technology for Aimpoint. Employees at Aimpoint have a tradition that you have to build your own Aimpoint Red Dot Sight. I'm not an employee, but they are a sponsor, so they asked me to build my very own Aimpoint Sight. Check out the intense process that Aimpoint goes through to build their incredible Sight.

I just watched the US Optics factory tour holly crap the difference! US Optics are made in SoCal in what looks like a storage facility filled with bros in flat bills and board shorts making huge illuminated recital zooming optics on plastic picnic tables. Aim Point being made in Sweden in a 100% cleanroom lab with full suits, hair nets, and special bracelets all to make a no power shining little dot. Both great optics but Jesus tap dancing Christ Aimpoint owns it.

As someone who works in a factory like this I absolutely appreciate everything these videos show me about Aimpoint's manufacturing. Just ordered my own Aimpoint PRO because of these. Those crafty Swedes, they got me!

I bought a sparc ar and I was really debating on returning it and biting the cost and getting a aimpoint micro. But after comparing the two. I just couldn't justify 700 dollars versus 150. The dot was almost no different. I saw no major difference in glass clarity. If anything it was just more minimal and the battery life is outstanding. But I don't mind buying AAAs for the sparc.

An operator is chewing gum at 0:51. The tour guy has his black shirt hanging out. They don't wear gloves, even when handling the lenses. Lens work is not done under a positive pressure hood. No beard nets. Doesn't seem very GMP to me.

Why do they have a US flag displayed in front of the building? Aimpoint's parent company GS Development Group looks to be a non-US owned company from everything I can find. It seems odd to for a US flag to be flying in front of a privately owned company in Sweden. Is this common practice for foreign companies who do a lot of business with the US?
@stefanstrid9780
@stefanstrid9780 9 жыл бұрын
The US flag was probably raised because of Vickers visit at the factory. As you say yourself, Aimpoint has nothing to do with the US except for it being a big market for their products but that alone wouldn't make them fly the american flag I think.

Whats up with the "Support this channel $," ive never seen that before very cool, you can donate to your favorite channels. Id like to know exactly how much my favorite channels make so you can donate accordingly. Obviously if they're getting 5000 rounds from Remington a month, $2500 from Aimpoint, free clothes and gear from 5.11 and at cost or wholesale prices from Barrett, S&W, LWRC, etc. PLUS ad money, I may not donat as much as I would to a smaller channel with less sponsors and free shite. Either way Larry Vickers is the man. My friends and I all call him Larry MUTHAFUCK'N Vickers!
