You were very fortunate with this! I see you enjoyed your intern, seeing p2020’s and p2000’s and gold line trains in the different divisions!

It was lots of fun and a great learning experience. I’d recommend it to anyone, even if you’re not interested in trains.

Sorry for responding so late, but anybody interested in the high school internship program should research Metro's Transportation Career Academy Program. 10/10 amazing experience.

Awesome video Josh :) p.s are you aware that metro is darkening the windows on the p3010's? i wonder why there doing that it ruins the experience for me because it's tough to look out the front. but anyway great video loved the cab view :).

Yes I’ve noticed that on all of the Expo Line p3010s. Operators don’t like being looked at from what I’ve heard, so I feel like that’s part of the reason why.

Wow great footage. How’d you get on the train? Are you still interning?

The internship only lasted for the summer.

DeBones is right, I only interned over the summer. This was outside of the internship too; I was able to ride since I am rail safety certified and was invited on board by someone who was working on the test train. I am very grateful for that opportunity!

-WELL I SURE HOPE SO, I'VE SAT ON TOO MANY SHUTTLE BUSE- It's definitely a good cause. Glad that transit users will have more modern stations and better information. The overhead conductor rails are pretty cool too. I swear I've seen them on some other system, just can't remember which.

It's too bad throughout the United States, light rail vehicles don't have a side door in the cab for the operator to escape outside the vehicle. If there is a electrical fire or, a danger within within the car. I'm pretty sure there's a federal reason for this!
@ElevationStationProductions5 жыл бұрын
I’ve never thought about that. There could be a federal regulation, but I’m not sure. Could just be preferential as well.

Some friends of mine that are managers and operators for the San Francisco Muni Metro, have been to Asia and Europe. They seen those cabin side doors for their operators. it's great to have one side door escape from the cab to the outside of the vehicle, rather than going through 2 doors to do the same thing! I've correspondent with APTA, and TTCI, as well as FTA, And the news media. So far, nobody gives a damn about safety for train operators here in this country.
