I'm an Aussie photographer. During our summer, I've used the fingers on the horizon trick too. I was taught that back in 1993 by by a fashion shooter, me being his assistant. No apps! How did we survive!?! Great vid mate. 👍

Well done Sam, really informative video. I shot my first ‘real’ wedding 2 weeks ago. Not a glam destination wedding but none the less a fab venue. Went very well and couple were extremely pleased with what I shot. I know how exhausted I was after 13 hours, can only imagine how tired you were. Great advice, great video. Bravo sir. Loved this ~ I’ve long wondered about using an 85mm lens and now you’ve made me want one ! You’ve also made me think about staying to the end of a wedding. Never considered it before, but maybe I need to change things up a bit. Looking forward to the next one 🙌🏻

Thanks Rachel, really appreciate that. Yeah, end of the wedding isn't always right for everyone, I think you have to make sure you charge for it, and feel comfortable being on a dancefloor of people who have been boozing all day!!!

A great watch this Sam! Yeah, the mobile issue happened to me before too - I arrived in Portugal late at night, and had no idea of how to get to my accommodation!! Very difficult!!! So now, I always download and save a region of google maps on my phone in case of no data. Looking forward to the next video buddy!

Sounds like you shoot a lot in burst mode - how do you find the SD cards keep up with this - and is there a particular speed of card you'd recommend or the R6 ?. Thanks :)

Yeah, high continuous + for me, and I write full RAW to both! No problem with the cards keeping up, I have to shoot 50+ before it starts to buffer!!
