not 'gotten by' / without AC, the 2200 would be more than enough. that large generator will be a burden because of the size and weight. The 2200 can be popped in the back door and be secure. The 2200 is probably quieter also.

Isn’t the purpose of overland camping to be off the grid? So now you bring this huge loud generator to go camping? I don’t get it, don’t you want to go camping to get away from the noise? With this huge generator you are going need a bigger rig to carry it and all the fuel you will need. Please explain what am I missing why? I really enjoy your channel, I enjoy your efforts, I just don’t get it, going out camping and everyone in the area has these loud generators going so you can watch TV? Oh that’s right you need to charge all your electronics so you can be entertained by this device, rather than the beauty of nature to enjoy the silence, to listen to the birds, smell the forest, smell a rain, enjoy the peaceful slower pace. To recharge naturally.

Yes, the giant generator appears to be overkill. A much smaller Honda 2000 genny would work even to run an A/C unit and is very portable.... or ditch the genny idea altogether and camp in the shade when it's hot, run a 12volt fan instead. Get a 12volt TV if you have to watch TV.

Four Wheel Campers do not have air conditioners so it's not for that. Any generator is overkill, but a huge heavy 7000 watter? You need a 2000 watt inverter generator. You can get one from Harbor Frieght for 500 bucks and you will barely hear it running and use way less fuel. You have wayyyyyy to much generator for what you got. Its like using a commercial pizza oven for a single french fry! You guys always go over the top price wise because the advertisers are giving it to you for free to use. Us regular folk buy with "our" money and usually get whats "needed". And yes, I have a 2020 Tremor myself. With that said... love the show!

@@MrChadx1 how long can you sit and blast music, cook and lights before the battery goes dead? a few hours? a few days? i doubt it but maybe... the solar panels are not enough and if you dont want to drive around everyday id say the generator is a good idea otherwise your using a 7.3 liter as a generator. but that might be a good comparison...which uses more fuel to recharge

Saw your other videos and am left with a few thoughts. You dumped the folding steps for the porch? Is the porch there to haul that Huge generator? Is that the setup you are going to use on the TAT? Since you didn't add an AC unit, that generator seems like over kill. Hondas' EU2000 could be stowed more easily.

Major overkill on the generator. I run my A/C unit in my hard side Northern Lite with a Honda 2000 and it does just fine. I am sure you probably already had the generator prior to getting the camper from 4 Wheel Campers to test. Also, without an A/C unit and having solar power, there is not a lot you would do that would require a generator. However, they are a "nice to have" item as a backup as you never know when you might need it.

This FWC already has solar which will be plenty for fridge and 12v lights, furnace, recharging video equipment, etc. Plus house battery is connected to truck and recharges as you drive if solar doesn't keep up due to clouds or tree cover. Even recharging camera equipment and laptops, i can't imagine the need for 120v when overlanding. We mostly disperse camp with out pickup camper and this is but one reason; people running generators. And they are typically the cheapest, loudest generators, and not the quieter yamaha and honda varieties, even when they are pulling some $70,000 camper. Makes no sense. Come on Andre. Ditch the generator! :)

Laugh out loud you guys are rookies, I charge my phone, computer and fans off a old diesel truck battery’s with no solar, they’re not rated for deep cycle in the truck and the truck still will start in the morning. Let me just get this right you have solar panel and because your truck is hooked to the camper it’s going to automatically charge your deep cycle battery. You could not drive your truck for two to three days run computers, internet, charge cams, run the fridge heat and fans Etc yes for two to three day and then if you drive for two hours you battery are fully charged again. Plus you don’t even have an AC unit That is the only reason for a generator. 🙈 your pone use like 0.1 amp hours you computer use 0.5 amp hours a editing computer use 1.5 amp hours and your fan use between 0.2to 2 amp hours. Leave the generator home you don’t need it

Plus the fridge, heater and hot water runs off of 12v/ propane correct if you want buy a 1,000-2,000 generator and charge for 1hours or the extra solar panel for 8hours of charging

The only thing I am think of getting is a car charger 20 watt solar 12v cigarette light for 59 dollars or something like a 100 watt roof mounted so I can run a more powerful fan roof mounted on high and have it tide into the truck starting battery
