A swing is more like an intense understudy - they aren't assigned a specific role but basically learn a sprinkling of parts from the show (ie a female swing may learn all or 3/4 of the female parts in the show). Different shows do it differently but sometimes the swings sit backstage or are on standby at home ready to fill in for pretty much any of the characters they've studied in case someone can't perform. It's basically someone who understudies most of the roles if that makes sense!

Max and Laura won the reality competition, "You're The One That I Want", Max has disappeared. Does anybody know what he's doing now? But Laura has gone on to quite a career.
