King or not, it's kind of amazing that this is preserved.

agreed! That is nearly 500 years old and it looks great!

Lol it is called the Royal Armoury for a reason, so definitely to kings and their attendees 💁🏿♂️🍽️.

That was very touching. The Keeper's care for her charges really shines through.

Fascinating. Love how these artifacts bridge the gap between history and the present. 😍

That is just amazing to see Henrys actual armour, does the museum have any records of what it cost to make in Henrys time and what it would be in todays money ?

That harness looks like it would fit me perfectly! Well, maybe not the codpiece. 😢

If it helps, it goes over your pants/trouser/hose.

This armor just looks almost like a Grey Knights Armor.

Would it be possible to put a camera inside the helmet to show the amount of vision the wearer would see? Not much, I'm guessing! Having stood and admired this armour, it is most certainly impressive in person.

I was there in 96 or 97. Couple days later I was catching pike at the river dam beside it. Good times.

How does the Armouries keep rust at bay. Surely not by regular burnishing 😂. You must have a secret recipe. Can you share please ?

Renaissance wax. Usually applied (carefully!) with heat, I believe. But I am not a conservator 😊

"Deinstall" is not a word in the English language. Not even an Americanism.
@joshh615 ай бұрын
In a museum context it's perfectly valid. 'Removing' sounds too parochial so many museums use the phrase deinstallation and in this context it has been shortened to deinstall.

Anyone with critical thinking skills can easily interpret what they meant instead of just having a hissy fit in the comments about it.
