I still think they should ignore second son and make a true 3rd game with the good ending they could very easily say that lighting that hit the boat at the end of 2 revived Cole then him and zeke just go into hiding till the dup show up and new conducts start showing up and say the sphere used in 2 killed most the conducts at the time but unleashed a new radiation that unlocked the conduit gene in others
