Heh... that's what I thought. I was like, okay, I knew the kitchen was a studio, but let's see what's up (somehow, I didn't see this video show up until today on my feed.) Then I saw ... WTF? A RED? That's kind of overkill for this kind of thing. Then, WTF? Two REDs? How much does this KZbin pay? And then the lenses.... ? Holy shit. And then the explanation at 1:38. Okay. That makes sense now.
@seigeengine4 жыл бұрын
@@peterpawinski4914 KZbin can pay reasonably well if you can consistently compel a meaningful size audience and have content you can get ads on. One of the factors here seems to be encapsulated in a line from his website where he says he only has preroll ads. I don't know if that's true, but that's definitely going to impact earnings. But obviously that setup is out of reach for any likely income from this channel regardless.

I love that the studio is a shed out in your backyard. It's an awesome solution to not having to film in your house's actual kitchen or rent a full studio. Now the camera nerd in me ached the moment you mentioned what your day job is because I love cameras. I love shooting videos, photos, editing footage, the works. It's why I started making my own cooking videos. Problem is, as much as I would kill to have a job like yours, I haven't even the faintest clue how to get into the industry! If I could just spend a day with the kind of tech that you and a UK youtuber I watch, Mumbo, have at your disposal I would be in heaven... I have a Sony DSC_HX80 camera which is great for photography but the video it shoots isn't the greatest. At some point, perhaps after the holidays, I plan to look into a new tripod so I can get better angles for the shots and a dedicated 1080P video camera.
