Behind the Scenes of a Gold Newborn Session

What you are viewing is a rare behind the scenes of a Gold Newborn Session we recently did in the studio. This sweet baby girl was just 34 days new (yes, we photograph newborns under 6 weeks of age) & her family drove all the way from Aurora to see us for her very first newborn portrait session. We loved to have them back in the studio as this was their second baby we were so lucky to photograph.

Our client wanted mostly sets that included the colour purple plus a few other setups in neutral tones. We customized each set to their specifications & I photograph various angles too. Our Gold Newborn Session allows you to choose your colour scheme while we match your tones to the specific workflow we perform as you see in this video. And we provide all the props & accessories for your newborn in all the sessions we do.
Gold Sessions are anywhere between 3 to 6 setups plus the composite which are completed in a 2-hour period (if you like what you see in the Gold, but want to do family images too, please check out our Platinum Newborn Session on our website). It is up to your baby to decide how many of these setups they would like to do. And after photographing over 1500 newborns, we find that Gold Newborn Sessions are best done at 9 am when your newborn is usually very sleepy.
In the end, our client received a proofing gallery with just over 70 images & with a Gold Session, they will be choosing 15 images for me to fully edit as their final product (plus the one composite) with the option to purchase more should they wish. The number of images in a proofing gallery once again depends on how many setups your baby will let us. And the final product is full resolution jpeg images (we DO NOT provide unedited images). And we also offer albums, canvases & prints to purchase too.
And as you can see from the video, I work side by side with my assistant, Anita. We make a great team to ensure your newborn is always safe in any pose that we do as Anita is always there within arm’s reach to support them. Once you book a session with us, you will receive a phone call from Anita just prior to your appointment to go over all the details & we are always there to help you answer any questions you may have. Anita gathers the info you provide & from there we create a one-of-a-kind fully customized session for each & every client that sees us. We can accommodate any colour scheme & have hundreds of backdrops to incorporate into any newborn session you book with us. All you have to do is simply fill in the proposal we provide you with at the time of booking, letting us know the colour scheme & tones you would like to incorporate & then you leave the rest up to us. On the morning of your session, we take the time to show you each setup & have a few minutes to make any small changes.
