David is so laid back that it’s insane. I’m diagnosed with OCD and I get very protective about my collectibles… I don’t want people touching anything. So, I find his philosophy on allowing people to touch anything very respectable.

So, picture this. It's about 1985, and I've re-watched the VHS cassette tape of Star Wars I'd recorded off the telly so many times that the tape was starting to stretch. Then we had a Bank Holiday Monday, which always ended up with ITV showing a Bond movie, for some reason, and I watched The Man With the Golden Gun for the first time. Two things stuck with me. The sight of Britt Eckland in that bikini, and the beautiful Golden Gun. And then, as a 42-year-old child, I got to hold a real, genuine replica of it in your basement and live out my childhood dreams. And the words that stuck with me before you unleashed me on your collection were: "The one rule is: You can touch everything." When it comes to your collection, you really mean that (hence me immediately doing Scaramanga poses.) This is such an amazing video and as somebody lucky enough to have seen the real thing, it ABSOLUTELY captures the magic and enthusiasm you have for all things Bond and movie related. I think that's what resonates with other people about you - your absolute, honest, undiluted enthusiasm for the same thing we all love! Thanks, David!

Being rich is having a career you're passionate about, family and friends you love and care for, being healthy and free. It's not monetary. Wealth is a nice byproduct of said passion and willing it into existence with a strong mind and dedication to your chosen career and lifestyle.

@@shannonbayley3684 If you say so. I think you'll find it a lot easier to get those things with money. You don't see a lot of happily married homeless bums with expensive educations, great careers and fulfilling family lives.
@shannonbayley36843 жыл бұрын
@@ediesedgwick4462 anyone can make money if they have the will to do so. That's all it is, setting goals and sticking to them. The money part doesn't create genuine happines, yes it's great to have it and do the things you like, but it isn't the most important thing. You see ridiculously overpaid actors, musicians, business men/women who are super wealthy and are depressed, who kill themselves etc, you see people with low income who just get by and they're happy because they love the life they have and that's enough for them. If you think money is the determining factor for absolute happiness I feel sorry for you. I wanted to live comfortably, so I used my mind and determination to create a career I love. If I didn't enjoy my job, if I didn't have great friends etc the money I make wouldn't be worth a damn.

Hi David. I stumbled across your channel during the pandemic. As a child of the late eighties/ early nineties I grew up watching bond. I think my fandom fell by the wayside as I grew older even though I've followed the Craig era. Your channel has reminded me of the joy and nostalgia I felt for this film series...so thank you. Tomorrow Never Dies was the first Bond cinema trip I ever had so it holds a special place in my heart! I'd place it just behind Casino Royale! All the best.

Hello David and fellow Bond fans! I have only come across your channel in the last month or so and I have to say, being a Brit and watching your content all the way across the pond, firstly your channel is EXACTLY what I've been wanting. Secondly, why has their been no UK KZbin channel dedicated to Bond, being he is British!? Any way, I digress. I just wanted to applaud your work and content and having grown up watching Bond since a very young age, I am 41 now, this channel and fellowship of like minded Bond enthusiasts is INCREDIBLE and I simply wanted to say thank you for bringing this to life. So far my favourite video is your behind the scenes of your own home and collection. You must forgive me as I am finding your archive videos and bringing myself up to date with your content. The No Time To Die Omega watch unboxing was so memorable to my own when I unboxed my Daniel Craig Omega from Casino Royale. I had a permanent grin on my face while watching your video. Again, I just wanted to say thank you and I can appreciate how much effort and work goes in to creating content on KZbin. What stands out the most though for me is your passion and commitment- that excited school boy at Christmas is PRICELESS as is your channel. Thank you David. Kind regards, Alex - Bournemouth England

The amount of work and research that must have gone into sourcing many of the items in your collection is incredibly impressive! And I think it's admirable that you allow the pieces to be dynamically used and experienced by guests, it's so easy to let these kind of collections just become dust collectors - but you really do make it the Bond Experience!

Thanks for the glimpse behind the scenes which is always so helpful in getting new ideas to improve one’s own video making. I’ve always appreciated the no frills and down to earth approach of TBE which is something I’ve always tried to cultivate in my own videos. I’m especially grateful for the equipment information because it’s far more revealing to get actual video creator input than website reviews. Lastly at 23:30 I see the TND 3D theater display on a tabletop. I have one as well and can never get it to stand up straight due to the open top nature. It never occurred to me to use it as a table top piece!

What I’m really blown away by is your secret collection room behind your gym. Wow! But my real question is getting up at three or four in the morning, what time do you go to bed?

5:15 August 1961, the original painted portrait of the General Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, by Spanish artist Francisco Goya was stolen from the National Gallery in London. Remarkably, a replica painting made for the Dr NO movie, was also stolen when the set of Dr NO's cave apartment was disassembled in 1962...
