Pennsylvania, it is claimed, doesn't charge a state tax (yes, I know it''s technically a commonwealth), but compare that to Maryland that charges and 8.75% state tax. Would I fare better, moneywise, to go to Pa to play, or is there something else I'd need to know?

+Ray Charles I think you may get charged the MD tax regardless if you are a MD resident... but I'm not 100% sure.

Doesn't make sense. If I've relocated to PA, at the time I claim the prize, why would I be charged an MD tax?

Ray Charles Like I said, I'm not sure on that. However, It wouldn't surprise me If Maryland charged a tax to it's residents for out of state lotto winnings. I'm doing some research now.

Cash 4 life in pa used to be if you won you wouldn't pay taxes now it's taxes regardless if your a pa resident or not

PA charges state tax on lottery winnings now; but it's only a flat 3.07%, the same as any other income.

This People are fixing the balls ..example in power ball and mega millón always come out the number 2 in the ball who multiply the prices..todas 8/7/2021 the treasure hunt was in 243k and they change for 230 k chires lol

The wild ball is the fix! PA lottery payouts have decreased significantly since the induction of this so-called odds increasing option. Just take a look for yourself
