Complicated deal, must be a lot of negative equity because a G wagon should be no more than $2000 a month since depreciation is not that high.

The payment is much higher because the residual is set low by Mercedes because it can be. Residuals are often not accurate reflections of future value.

@@BenzsandBowTiesthanks for that - I had thought the residual value set was a reasonable estimate of expected value in x months time. Seem like a G wagon lessee should have equity in the vehicle (even if intending to go to another vehicle - buy out the remainder and sell the vehicle).

@@BenzsandBowTies People don't seem to understand that they are actively making bad decisions, or some are aware and plow ahead regardless. If I found myself 20k into negative equity, I'd lock myself in a room without food for 3 days just as punishment.

Jeez... I guess I'm an easy customer. Rep lets me know time to order new car in time for lease end. I configure on line. Walk into the store. 15 minutes of pleasantries and catching up on families. He checks allocations and snags a build not yet closed. Minimum deal. Get an idea of whether any equity in my lease return. No markup of acquisition fee or MF. Done. Say HI to finance mgr, sales mgr, owner and my service advisor. Guess it leaves the guys more time for buyers with multiple cars, multiple trade ins, and the expectation that they can make money in their business but you cannot. But serious question you have not dealt with-- brokers. Very popular in my community and these guys are claiming outrageous discounts for fees generally around $599.

Sounds like you have a great relationship with your dealer and they’ve made it easy for you! As for brokers, they do not get you deals you couldn’t get on your own. The money the dealership would generally be making is instead being made by the broker.
