How dangerous is the ionizing radiation from CTs? Is it true that ionizing radiation is harmful to human DNA?

Yes, ionizing radiation is harmful to humans BUT, only when the dose is high. These diagnostic radiology machines (x-ray, ct scan) are pretty much safe. The techs you see on the video are responsible for practicing radiation protection upon patient exams e.g, they provide a lead shield apron when an exam is performed near the genitals (cells there are sensitive to radiation). They have been engraved with rules throughout their time studying. One good example is the ALARA or as low as reasonably achievable (they are referring to the lowest possible dose to use in an exam that can provide a diagnostic image for the doctors/rads to evaluate). Tl;dr. diagnostic radiology is not dangerous
