I think it is time for a revisit to this prop. I have a scene where this would work, but want to use an existing tombstone for it. How about a video to adapt a mechanism to the existing and still pull off the effect?

You went waaaaay back. The secret to that prop is that there’s a platform with two dowels sticking out of it that match the two pvc pipes inset into the tombstone. Then the tombstone just slides over the dowels and it rocks back & forth.

You running that with a standard plug or an ac adaptor?

Standard wall power. I just clipped the female plug off an extension cord and wired it to the motor leads.
