I would love to hear about your sewing journey. But I also love that you comment on what you are doing in the video, the problems that you are facing with that specific fabric, technique, situation etc. Maybe a "standalone" sewing journey video? Or mix, just as you feel like, as long as, generally, you don't stop explaining? ^^ Anyway, the dress came out stunning!

Thank you so much! I won’t stop explaining I just wasn’t sure from a viewers perspective if it was interesting! I will totally make a stand alone sewing journey video. I guess I was trying to use “sewing” to hide my on camera awkwardness 😂🤣. I really appreciate the feed back.

I love your videos. You’re so pretty and talented. It’s nice to see a black woman sew and wear vintage. I noticed that so many vintage patterns are super small. I’ve never had a 24” waist. I’m not overweight or obese even after 4 (now pregnant with baby 5) children. How do you find patterns for those of us with hips and a butt? Do I just have to adjust every pattern? My usual size is 36-30-42.
@SewRena4 жыл бұрын
Hey!!! Some of us do naturally have a 24in waist although I don’t consider it to be an average size waist. Patterns were made to be a guide, and in order to get a custom fit you will need to adjust and alter each pattern to get the proper fit. So a tip is to buy as close to your measurements as possible and alter from there. I usually have a 28bust and 24in waist so I buy size 12 patterns with a 30in bust and work from there. For Your size I recommend buying vintage patterns in a size 18 or 20. They are kind of hard to come by, but they are out there. Check Facebook pattern groups, and eBay. That size goes pretty quickly. Congrats on your pregnancy! Way to go super mom❤️❤️ big families are such a blessing. I wish you a safe and speedy delivery. Thank you so much for watching and supporting.

I was looking through your vids, girl this is my craft tv 🥳 I came across this video and I see you made Simplicity 8363 and You probably have seen the new re release of it as simplicity 9465. I would love to see you do a comparison between the pattern parts. Also I had no idea that the older simplicity patterns came in a bigger envelope. As always you did a great job. 😍

Thank you so much! I don’t buy modern patterns anymore, but @stephaniecanada has a series where she compares vintage to reproductions and so far none of them are the same and the reproductions are actually redrafted they just reuse the pattern art. Not all the simplicity patterns came in such big envelopes just a few of them. Thank you for your support 💕💕

@@SewRena Thank you I need to check her out. It's wild they are just using the old art. Why not remake the really popular patterns then, oh well. 🤷🏾♀

I really like this...You never know what it will look like on your body, when all you have to go on is the package image, and those drawn models are deformed...
