Hi Alexander! I hope you are well and in good spirits! Thanks you so much again for watching and commenting. I feel privileged that you watch my videos. They don't always show beautiful stamps like you do. I actually bought one of the blocks of Russian stamps with animals on it after I saw your video showing the gift you stamps you got with the beautiful Russian animal stamps with it. I think I must show those in a video. Thank you!!!!!! 🙂🤗

Nice episode. Your last fest episodes has been the closest I have been to a stamp fair. Yes, kinda said. I buy my stamps online, no brick-and-mortar shop in my area. And I think a lot of people do. I think maybe stamp dealers are ‘bypassed’ by individual sellers who sell their stamps through forums and websites. That way it might look stamp collecting is dying, but maybe it isn’t. I see a lot of interest for modern used, from the years 200 til current. I am not a stamp dealer but because I don’t cut off at a certain year I know I have been competing with others for modern used stamps. Anyway, I love your videos and it was nice to hear others collectors talk! Have a wonderful weekend!
@GreatStampAdventure Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris!!! Yes, it is probably difficult to really determine the amount of stamp collecting activity, also under younger people, because of so much activity and dealing being on internet these days. In my short stamp collecting endeavour I also mostly bought from an online trading site. On that site I have not seen many modern stamps being traded, like you are getting. I am not yet concentrating on modern stamps, yet. In countries like New Zealand where postal cancellations are frequently not used, and the cancellations nationally only contains a date, used stamps and postal history is taking a knock! Maybe that will make them even more valuable if any eventually still exist. I only bought from stamp dealers in real life on two occasions now, and although I am a bit hesitant about the prices, there is something special to physically see and choose stamps and get them immediately. Thanks so much for watching and your positive comment!!!! I appreciate it so much! You must have an excellent weekend as well. 🙂

we need to try - maybe through these videos - to start a trend of collecting with young people. Have an AWESOME day !! 🎥💥🔥👍☮

Hi! Yes, that is an awesome goal! Most of my channel's viewers are older than 65, which is fine with me, but I have very few, almost no young viewers. I don't have children and is not much exposed to young people, and I will find it hard to do videos in a way that will attract young people. I think with your channel you are in a much better place to get young people to watch and get involved. You must have a beautiful week as well. Quite rainy in Tauranga today.

I start my weekend with your interactive philatelic episode. Your pleasant disposition is the way it should be while interacting with others, against a hobby construed for the quieter, solitary and reserved folks. Today, I am mailing out postcards to three different Ukrainians from various parts of the country. I showcase my solidarity with Ukraine through philately and postcards.

@@GreatStampAdventure thanks for the good vibes. started well, hope it ends well with the World Cup cricket final versus Australia tomorrow. Few days earlier we defeated New Zealand in the first semi-final, having gone undefeated through the league stage, while Australia won a thriller against South Africa in the second semis, a day later. As for philately and postcards, sorry but I am active in posts on instagram and other social media. Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately for New Zealand it did not go well for them in the cricket. Australia was just superior. Very friendly people there. Its a shame the dealers are declining and younger people are not collecting as much, it seems they can't live without their iPhone etc
@GreatStampAdventure11 ай бұрын
Hi Jerry! Yes, younger people within this digital information age are so busy with their cell phones. I think stamp collecting might also have a "stuffy" image and is generally regarded as being practiced by "old people". However, I am sure the hobby must still be pursued by some young people. Hopefully they are enough to keep philately alive. It is really such an exciting thing. The people involved in stamps, and New Zealanders in general, are very friendly and kind. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!!! You know how much it means for a channel.

Hi Issam, thanks for watching. I am sorry, I cannot help you with selling stamps. You can try to take your collection to a local dealer for appraisal and possibly selling it, or you can sell on online auction sites like E-bay. It is not simple, though, you have to catalogue your stamps and get to know retail prices. Good luck!
