I was also at the show at the Ontario Place Forum Strange Advance & Images In Vogue. June 7th 1986. To this day one of the best shows i have been to. The Forum was packed full of people and it was a beautiful night. Thankyou. Dec 28th Images In Vogue are playing in Niagara Falls at Old Stone Inn. I wish Strange Advance was playing with them.

One of the prettiest new wave songs I've ever heard... and it came so late in life to my ears... well into the mid 2010's I heard this song on the radio

It's cool to hear a bit of the behind the scenes stuff, sad to hear about the circumstances of the tour cancel. I was at the concert you mentioned, it was inside Ontario Place, what an AMAZING SHOW! Thanks for the memories guys!

I remember going to see Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome the night of Live Aid 1985 July. The following night I was going to see Tina Turner Private Dancer Tour . I lived in Fredericton NB. After the movie was over I standing in lobby and see these guys who looked really out of place for Fredericton. I could not stop looking at them, they were really cool looking and I was intrigued. They ended up noticing me and it was like HELLO. HELLO. No big deal. So the next night I am at the Tina Turner concert, right at the front of the stage on left hand side. The opening act comes out, and I am like, HOLY FRIG THOSE ARE THE GUYS WHO WERE AT THE MOVIE THEATRE LAST NIGHT.. 'STRANGE ADVANCE'. I knew of the song " WE RUN", but knew nothing about them or what they looked like. They did really well and put on a great show and I got pictures of them performing, still have them, but they are stashed away somewhere. Great night it was.

If I remember correctly, they joined the Tina Turner tour in Halifax. They had a gig at The Misty Moon, where they were basically prepping to open at the Metro Centre the next night or two nights later or something like that. I was supposed to meet up with some friends and arranged to meet them right in front of the stage right stacks. They never showed. By the time that I left at the end of the night, I couldn’t hear the slightest sound. It made communicating with the police officer that had pulled me over on the way home somewhat problematic.

Strange Advance playing at the Capital Ballroom in Victoria, BC on May 13! Then Ontario - McBowl in Mississauga May 25/ Empire Theatre in Belleville May 26/ Maxwell’s in Waterloo May 27!!

Yes, Drew still hits that high note you mention (:22), he sometimes sings it on the phone for my wife on her birthday (over the phone)

I was going to say how it is you got lucky enough to have Drew sing that to your wife over the phone but then I realized... you're Billy freaking Chapman, that's why! No wonder... also, you are an awesome drummer!

Awe, shucks!! thanks for the vote of confident. It's been a few decades since I played drums for any amount of time. Last year, we were rehearsing for a Strange Advance tour, but sadly, it never succeeded (for a bunch of reasons). It sure was awesome playing those great S.A. songs with a smokin' hot band though - even just at the rehearsal studio.

@@willswitchcraft oh, I know all about the trials and tribulations of the SA tour from the various posts on the FB Fan Club group. The pandemic really put a spanner in the works, didn't it? But I have seen those rehearsal samples from the videos R Dubya Bee has been posting and you all sound absolutely AMAZING and I am SO JEALOUS of the lucky Canadians who will be getting to see you all perform in person when you do get out on the road at last. I live in Texas so there is absolutely no chance at all I'll get to see y'all in concert, so I have already posted that I hope there are people who will record the shows and post them on KZbin so I can see you all that way. (Also, yeah, you all have fans in Texas.)
