Chris and Karon Pugh seem like a model working class couple living in a small seaside town. The neighbors admire their spotless house, and busy schedule. But the clean house hides some very dirty secrets that will result in unimaginable violence.

There are two murders in this case. The judge killed the woman after her husband murdered her. I hope the judge’s wife was okay. If she cheated, the judge might have killed his own wife too. He totally understood the killer’s action. Unbelievable.

Maybe one of the family member should have attacked Chris with a hammer as well after he was released and then use the defense of provocation as a precedence. They are all talk. Meanwhile, their daughter's/sister's/niece's/aunt's killer is going on his merry way after getting away with murder.

I don't understand these children when I see stories like this...what do you mean what side to choose? You know darn well they saw their mother being abused throughout their childhood and their dad beats their mother to death and you can't seem "choose" what side to be on? Time and time again in these stories you see these ungrateful kids choose the killer side or they are confused and don't know what side to choose...how can you be confused? I don't care if they are your parents they MURDERED your loved one ....there should be no confusion or question no matter how much you love them....good grief.

Its usually a result of a codependent relationship. When you are raised by a sociopath or narcissist the children become people pleasing codependents. When the good parent is murdered the only one left to cling to is the killer. It sucks but the trauma bonding makes it almost impossible to leave. When codependents don't have someone they feel like they are drowning or dying.

My ex was abusive, he was very jealous even though I always had the kids there would be no opportunity for me to cheat even if I wanted to. I just don't think she was as innocent a woman or is fearful. If she's scared of her man she wouldn't even look at another man. Or she wouldn't be interested I should say. Cuz I know I wasn't. But that's just me. All I know is what I've heard other people say women that are afraid don't usually find a life in their marriage outside of their marriage.

I've watched quite a lot of these, but this one has really upset me more than the others which were terribly tragic. This man Chris will get his reckoning one day on judgement day with God, in the meantime he literally tore a family in pieces, a good loving family, and stole not only Karon's life in a brutal, savage way, and broke the hearts of all who dearly loved her. I am so sorry for the victims of this man, there is no peace when they have a judge actually apologise to the perpetrator, unflippen believable... and her lover was a coward who did not deserve her. So sorry Karon, you deserved so much better. God bless Karon, and her lovely family. I hope by doing this program it gave you a chance to bring the truth to light.

Ive watched tons of these but this episode frustrated me far more than any other. Ive never seen so many people make so many bad decisions. Obviously none of it excuses the murderous monster Chris is or justifies what he did.. but jeezus. Karon keeps having kids with him.. decides to have an affair knowing how unstable, paranoid, abusive, and controlling he is. Her family simply tells her to 'be careful' or 'tell chris you dont love him anymore'... all terrible advice. Chris' family basically supports and excuses his behavior. Then hes stalking his her and is told "pull the blinds down".... after days n days of him lingering outside the home they ASK karon if they should call the police!! Just do it!! Clearly karon wasnt making safe decisions... then, karon decides to continue sleeping with him and interacting with him.. good grief.. and thats besides how chris was sentenced.. all horrid

She now has to live with that knowledge for the rest of her life, rightfully. I am a DV survivor, am not victim-shaming and understand full extent of reality altered to the point where incomprehensible things are normalized and desperation for affection. For a judge to decide 16 times to kill his wife with not just one, but two hammers and to get a lesser sentece, beats me😢God always be good to that family❤

Why does she make so many bad decisions?. Sometimes as an individual you must analyse yourself to see why you keep getting into horrible situations.

That judge should not be a judge. How disgusting to say karen had driven this controlling violent socio path to kill her. Such misogynistic view which so dangerous to all women.

45:50 The Provocation Clause?!? Hell, why’s a crime like murder illegal at all. Anyone could say they were provoked into killing another person in many circumstances. In this particular case, such a clause should not have been considered. Did Karon ever report any past instances of abuse to the authorities? Like when he broke her arm?

21:48min Listen to this "Her NEEDS have not been met for such a long time" This is the sht they put into peoples minds. You must MEET YOUR OWN NEEDS. People are NOT here to make you happy. They are busy looking for their own happiness....... Grow up!!!

Then why get married or try find love.. it's a two way street. Realistically a relationship comes with expectations otherwise it's a bad relationship

@@helenmcdonnell2585 This is a good example of how the world has been conditioned so much that everyone is just living miserably. Marriage is a man made up thing. Its not real. It is against the laws of the universe for one human being to give happiness in another human being......you are all just lost and confused like the blind leading the blind. You find love yourself first, when 2 parties who love themselves enough get involve, there would be no expectations. Instead things just flow nicely and these 2 parties do nice things for each other without being asked or expected to. Then there would be no divorces, domestic violence, break ups, suspicious minds etc. But religions and governments have everyone believing to look externally for love and happiness instead of within you. as long as people are busy fighting with each other over silly things, religions and governments get up to shady deeds to continue to profit and control you. But i fear its a long way from here to there as too many people live in fear and lost in the haze of so much lies and confusion. Stop giving power to man made things and look within yourself. Happiness is there.

Normal healthy people do not have whirlwind romances and leap into marriage. Narcissists and their victims do, or a pair of narcissists do. It's a huge red flag, and a common factor in so many of these types of cases.

Seems like all the men in their circle are a bunch of cowards. The men should have sorted Chris out. Instead it’s a bunch of women making big talk and doing nothing. Are all the men in the UK such cowards? Shameful.
