Merci beaucoup pour voter leçon de français très interéssant, mais j’ai pensé qu’ici’ signifie ‘here’ en anglais et ‘la’ signifie ‘there’. Donc pourquoi dissez vous ‘je suis allé ici’ au lieu de ‘je suis allé la' to mean ‘I went there’?

I am on the autism spectrum, and one thing that has made languages hard for me is that teachers tend to be really loud and very sharp in their vocal tone so that they can articulate words. I have a hard time concentrating because my ears just hate loudness and I don’t like the shrillness of their voice. I’m returning to French again and this makes it so much more enjoyable for me. I would love to see more videos like this.

Merci beaucoup! French is so beautiful, especially with a feminine voice. I never studied French, but I have picked up a few words and phrases over the years. I never realized how much/little I knew until I visited Senegal and needed to use it. A little French and a little Wolof go a long way there.

Thank you, I shall watch your French videos again in case we are ever allowed to travel again. I survived two days in Paris last year with four sentences: Je ne parle pas très bien le français; Parlez vous anglais?; je voudrais ... and a handful of critical nouns like café and pain du chocolat (the essential food groups) and L'addition, s'il vous plait. The only time it failed me was in the taxi on the way to the hotel. The driver spoke no English, none of our group spoke French well... but as it turned out she could speak passable Italian so I was talking to her in a mixture of Italian and Pidgin French (when she didn't know the Italian), and to the others in anglais. My head hurt by the time we reached the hotel.

I can speak,read and write English and Spanish perfectly well but with French lessons I used to write "J'aime apple Dave Dogge !" I was that bad. Yes you read that right as 'apple'. There is probably a French language Connection with Wales in Great Britain and Galicia in Spain but I don't really know about the Galic history of those regions.

This was cool, I especially like how you threw in informal words/phrases/greetings and the hesitation sound. I never really thought about it but I suppose most languages have a hesitation sound, like "um" and "uh" in American English. By the way, what kind of accent do you have? I have a good ear for different accents/dialects in English and Spanish, but I have no idea about French.

Question: If you are speaking to someone would it be considered rude to just start speaking with them and not address them as "Monsieur: or "Madame" at some point? Here in the Southeastern United States it is considered proper etiquette to address others, especially older adults, as "Ma'am" (short for Madam) or "Sir", whether you know them or not, especially when answering questions or acknowledging instructions, as in, "Did she tell you where she was going?" "No Ma'am. She did say anything. She just left." Many from other parts of the USA find this strange. Some even think it is rude, especially if the other person is not particularly old.
@inessebbar85444 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's not considered rude :) Using the "vous" for a single person instead of "tu" is a formal way of addressing a stranger. Using "Monsieur" or "Madame" is not rude but it sounds a bit weird, except if you are addressing an old person.
