Hey Tim - I have a 960, the 1027 wasn't available at the time. Also looks cool and well-built. Sounds like Monodux has you covered for getting it running What I think is totally stupid of B is to use S Triggers which were obsolete in the 80s. It just means more hassle, more incompatability and possibly more expense for users. Grrrrr. 😠 You'll get it sorted soon 👍

Hi Ian, yes it does look cool and takes up less space than the 960, that is the main reason I went for it instead of the 960. I have now got it sorted I think, thanks to Monodux and ilovecatsandsynths. Still dont fully understand whats happening. :)

I hope someone can help you with patching it, so it works without having to use another sequencer. Thank you for sharing, and a very good jam at the end.

Thank you, this community is very good at helping me, and they have, as you can see from the comments above.

The reason you couldn’t hear anything without using the Grandmother is because your envelopes are being triggered by the gate from the midi-to-CV module, controlled by the Grandmother. You have to patch the 1027’s clock out instead so it can trigger your envelopes so you can hear the notes (use an interface to convert V-trig to S-trig as needed). You can use the sequencer for more than notes too. You could send its CV to a filter cutoff and use it like a complex LFO for example. Or mix it with your midi module’s CV, then you can use your Grandmother to transpose the sequence.

Cheers for taking the time to help, I have now patched the clock out to the GM clock in, and used the CP35 to patch the envelope, this has done the trick, I am not sure why tho' :) I am just following your advice. Thanks again. Tim.

Congrats on your 1027! It is a quirky and wonderful sequencer, IMHO. What you were missing is a patch from the clock out on the bottom right. That should run into your 961 interface module to turn those V-trigs into S-trigs, and from there into your 911 Envelope Generator to control your 902 VCA. Basically the sequencer has to tell the oscillator what pitch to play, and the VCA to open so you can hear what it is doing to the oscillator. Clear as mud? Let me know if a quick tutorial would help, I'll be happy to do one for you.

Cheers, thank you, I have now clocked the out to the Grandmother clock in this has sorted it, I did a bit more re-patching also.

congrats, a nice unit and very flexible. Cheers

I have started to get to grips with it, thanks to this synth' community.

Yes, it can be a little daunting at first. The 1050 mixer is a perfect compliment to the 1027. OZ Hall has a pretty good starter for these modules as well as Ralph Baumgartl. They explain basic functions etc. Cheers@@DisciplinedCommotion

Does this make music or do you need to plug something else into it?
@DisciplinedCommotion2 ай бұрын
Hi, you have to patch it into something else usually an oscillator in eurorack.
@tonyjamesr1162 ай бұрын
@ So I’d need to buy a separate oscillator, ? if I ran my komplete keyboard through it would that not work? Thanks
@DisciplinedCommotion2 ай бұрын
@@tonyjamesr116 Forgive me I am quite new to this sort of thing myself so Iam not an expert. What keyboards do you have, do they have a CV input? On the 1027 you tune the knobs to the required note, patch the 1027 to the CV input, and depending on your keyboard will play the notes back. Hope this makes sense. Tim.

@ tbh I am too !! I’ve got a native instruments komplete keyboard tbh it’s probably easier for me to buy Reaktor 6 it’s a software by native instruments that’s basically modular build your own synth sound etc
