Really appreciate your calm thorough explanations. Pacing slow enough to follow without constantly having to stop while moving fast enough to maintain interest. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the video. I was getting to the point of giving up on utilizing the B2600 with the B960 together. The pace and explanations of your videos help so much. Thanks.

Hey there! I’m so glad you didn’t give up on it. They make a great pair. Thanks for watching!

I have been on the fence regarding the 960, the additional utility modules needed to be able to create truly interesting and musical results plus the learning curve. But this very simple and powerful demo has advanced my understanding light years. In a recent interview with Thorsten Quaeschning of Tangerine Dream he mentioned that Edgar Froese taught him everything he knew about creating proper TD sequencing. He said there are many rules regarding note position and want not. Wish someday that treasure troove of knowledge get officially published. Sorry for the long post. Kind Regards 🎉 and thank you for sharing such valuable info.

Roman, thanks so much for watching and for your thoughtful comment. The 960 is certainly a unique tool- it is certainly not as flexible as modern sequencers are, but I love working with it, and the character it has. I’d love to hear more about your journey as you go along!

Well done. A clear explanation about two items that I’m still learning about and how they can interact via patching.

I am interested in your plugging the oscillator output of the 960 into the 2600 to boost the signal. Does the 961 s/v/ trigger module accomplish this? Or is there some other module that can do this?
@monodux Жыл бұрын
The way I understand it, if you’re going to use the 960 with the 2600 you have to boost the signal for it to work. The switch module won’t do this, but anything that will raise the gain should work, even a filter with an input gain. Note, this is needed simply because the voltage levels of the two devices don’t match. Interestingly the 2500 sequencer module does not need the extra gain and works perfectly without it.

Ralph Baumgartl (spelling?) does a series of videos on using the 2600 to the fullest, with sequencers & keys. Its got some hangups, but I would rather have a number of users give up and sell it, because it isn’t for everyone. I would like to try out the 960 as well, and I am pretty happy that many users may not be happy with both units. More of us folks that can crack the code will be more able to get one, or a second one. The 2600 can sound pretty awful with the wrong person in charge, it is far from being a no-brainer. That being said, its the price of three cheap Eurorack oscillators, and making a single oscillator sound okay might cost several times the price of a 2600. It is a great time to be alive, and not too picky about synths! Tell me I’m wrong. 😉

Perchè sprecare un sinth bello come il 2600 per fare solo questi fastidiosi rumori? si puo' realizzare una demo diversa? Vi ringrazio e chiedo scusa per la mia franchezza.

This is more a functionality demonstration than any attempt at great sound design. Have a look at some of my other videos and you may find something you like better. Thanks for watching and commenting.
