Liked the video. As said in the comments already: nice to show a bit of how the patching works! I use FL, so not sure if I can follow what you did in Ableton. Do you ever use the Synth Tool that comes with it? I often use it on the TD-3, but doesn't realy work well on the Crave or it's just me. Thanks for the video!
@TechTronix013 жыл бұрын
Nah I don't really use synth tool.. I just use the menus.. and sequence it either externally or use the buttons

Great vid, looks like you actually USE the Crave for music, so I'd love to see how you integrate it with your DAW (with drum beats and so on). I'm gradually figuring it out, but there's sometimes stuff that's almost but not quite... example: using the arpeggiator - it runs in tempo, but not locked into the beat.. sequencer starts when the daw plays, whether I like it or not!! So if you've got any info on that, it would definitely be filling a gap in the Crave videos out there. Peace!

Yeah I'm going to do a behringer crave basics video.. that's definitely something cover

It's quite astonishing the sounds you can get out of this little box. I've had to order some patch cables for mine as I bought it 2nd hand and it came without them. Can't complain as I got it for £80.
@Schemez-16vhiphopbeatz6 ай бұрын
I was gonna get one few months ago but got the Roland j6 instead cause of the 64 step sequencer bit tbh iv never really used it iv sampled a few the sounds into the circuit rhythm but I wish I got the crave instead but I might get one soon. Iv been saving up for an mpc so if I might get one after I get that

I am learning crave but am going Dawless to see what it can do. I havs not got around to patching yet but it looks really complicated. Can the pstch cables go from ANY point to any point? How do you start with it? Is it a matter of plugging something to something and seeing what the effect is?

Do you know if the Midi USB is suppose to transmit Sequencer and ARP data? I seem to be only able to transmit note data I can transmit Sequencer and ARP data via DIN midi but its not the best for syncing.

i can't figure out what's up with mine the keyboard detects touch but i have no pitch difference on any of the keys im going to flash the stock fw see if that's does it but im at a loss here because the oscillator works just keyboard only plays in one key

Try flicking down a few octaves.. I think there is a maximum range.. if not this tell your supplier

So whats going on in the Ableton Env section? First Im DAWLESS so no Appletons 4 me, but I have hardware sequencers. Am I correct in understanding that one can use MIDI CC# to 'spice up' sequences in the Crave, eg program filter apects etc - and this is done by assigning the assign function to a MIDI CC in the list you showed earlier?
@squishmusic3 жыл бұрын
I ask this as I know the Crave is Analogue...so I didnt quite get why there is a MIDI CC lista in the manual :D
@TechTronix013 жыл бұрын
Correct. Yeah I've done it with ableton and the circuit tracks
@squishmusic3 жыл бұрын
@@TechTronix01 but only in the sequencer - since its analogue using MIDI CC wont affect control of the sound/knobs.
@TechTronix013 жыл бұрын
@@squishmusic no.. an external sequencer could modulate or move the craves cuttoff or anything else over midi cc regardless of whether a sequence is playing.. you just need to patch the thing you want to modulate so from assign to cut-off.. parameter lock can be done If the sequencer has that ability

Crave or freak as your fav?
@TechTronix013 жыл бұрын
Very difficult to say.. like choosing an arm.. the freak is way more versatile when it comes to sound pallette.. but there's something about the craves thats hard to pin down..it sounds great Being emi modular give ya alot of flexibility aswell..
@squishmusic3 жыл бұрын
@@TechTronix01 Im planning on both. It looks like the Crave has more of that instant-hands-on appeal whereas the MF seems a little slower in that regards, as it has more functions under the less-knobby - but this is just my view from watching lots of tutorials :D
