PREDICTION: a synth punk from Benfleet will, in 2049, obtain a vintage Behringer BMX, and several other devices from Behringer's micro/mini line, and create a highly influential synth album under the moniker "Run BMX". He will rise to fame, only to be gunned down in front of a local curry stand by a rival calling himself "Borg Volca", over a beef regarding a cracked sysex file containing tweaks and patches adapted from the ancient Yamaha DX-7 for use on the Volca Keys 3, and then RE-cracked to be used on a Behringer. The patches in question will appear on a track on Run BMX's album entitled "Sidechain Simp", in which Borg Volca appears to be "called out" by the lyric "All the Norwich Boyz, Playin' they V-toys, They mommas love me, tho, 'cause I bustin' my 12 bit, way up in dey shit". This incident will then set off a series of violent incidents in the "synth punk" scene, leading to minisynth manufacturers such as Behringer, Tesco (yes, Tesco will begin producing and marketing its own line of micro-mini synths under the label "Tescolon"), and TCL putting up billboards against synth violence. Synth violence will become so prevalent that there will be a background check and a mandatory 10 day waiting period for the purchase of any synth. Meanwhile, the prices of acoustic guitars will plummet because of a complete and utter societal rejection of the instrument. The term "banjo" will be adopted as an extreme insult, and being called such will be considered by most to be a justification for physical retribution. This cycle of violence will culminate in a period of upheaval called the "oscillator wars", in which AI generated recordings will ultimately replace digital reproductions of analog wave forms created by applications and VSTs, which will be seen as relics of an oppressive past, in which music was believed to inherently "belong" to human beings. Ultimately this will all end when a luddite terrorist group uses electromagnetic pulse technology to disable all AI and digital devices, leaving people with nothing to do other than sit around beat boxing and making fart noises while stomping and clapping their hands.

I love 78 sounds so this will be for me. Regarding the RD8…you need to double check which version you are getting as the MkII is closer and worth xtra. No exactly remix this time ???

On one hand, it's great the movement to bring back cherished drum machines back to the masses. HOWEVER, on the other hand, the HUI with the soft drum pads is completely WRONG. The charm and usability of the early Linn's, Oberheims, etc. etc. are the clickety buttons, like a keyboard. Not ONE soft finger pad anywhere. If you go retro, GO RETRO all the way. Don't cheapen half step it. And the LinnDrum (aka 'LM-2')... THAT ONE?! The LM-1 was the jam!!! Why oh why would you pick the second Linn. Granted the LinnDrum was great, but NOT as great at the original first Linn Drum computer, on many levels. It wasn't a second drum machine that advanced anything but rather a re-thinking of the first one, removing individual pitch pots, etc. etc. Even Prince preferred the first one! Anyway. It's constructive experience based opinionated feedback if anyone at Behringer is scanning through these videos. Peace!

They’ve cloned THAT one because they acquired one from Tears for Fears. It’ll have the LM1 built in. I much prefer the Linndrum anyway. Prince used both
