Behringer Inuke 1000DSP, 3000DSP faulty, Fixed, Ring of death

Behringer Inuke 1000DSP faulty, the circuit diagram is the same as the 3000 but this PCB has a few extra components.

faults
Output Mosfets (IRFS23N15DPbF) T10, T11, T12 and T13, read as open circuit, little unusual as most Mofet's go short.
Replaced with IRFS4227PbF
C69 - 1uf 250v cap had gone all but short 2ohm
IC15 (IRS20955(S)PbF) faulty
Replaced IC15 and IC16 with IRS20957S
Test equipment
Standard Multi meter with diode check
Multi-function tester T7

The MOSFET parts are discontinued, but not a big deal. The NU1000 series use surface mounted parts, so they're different packages and those weren't available for the 4227's. You can replace them with the parts mentioned in the NU3K manual if they'll fit, that's fine. They'll work just fine, the driver stages will drive them just fine.

That's a weird failure for a polyester film cap at relatively low voltage. As you say, MOSFETs normally fail short, so good catch! For the drivers to fail is odd though as they are normally killed by a shorted MOSFET, although they are extremely sensitive to a difference in the voltage between the input and drive side ground voltages.

To me, this indicates someone may have tried to parallel the channels or backfed it from another amplifier, which by itself wouldn't be a problem if there's no DC offset; however, the iNuke series has about 1.2mV of DC offset -- completely acceptable, but not safe for putting itself into parallel and accidentally reversing polarity on one.
