Hi Sidney, it seems a really simple thing to people already into Eurorack and similar gear but I figured this would be a lot of peoples first experience moving modules and these types of things around. Glad it was helpful for you.
@philippendletonmusic3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely love that Behringer made the connections idiot proof i.e they only work one way. Same for their modules. Why other companies don't do the same is mystifying. Eliminates the risk of fried modules.

Excited to have received mine yesterday. Can't believe I got a gorgeous modularised space saving Minimoog for £235 on Ebay. Wot a no brainer! Glad now I didn't fork out for a Voyager rme with interface boxes, which would've been much bigger & cost a fortune, assuming I could find one! Plan to put in my eurorack setup.

Speaking from experience, you should never rely on a manufacturer's orientation of the header box on the board. Sometimes they install the key the wrong way. Without fault protection, you're going to loose a module if the voltage is wrong. Always look at where your pin stripe is.
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
Well aware of all of that. I'm always careful and check.

well it's definitely nothing like the experience of the full AJH voice but of course this may give you a colour you're looking for.

Is it possible to add a doepfer a-138b on the same psu inside the case of a behringer model-d, wasp or cat? Changing the wall wart power supply to one with the same voltage but more amperage?
@DivKid2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marco, that's not possible as there's no Eurorack power distribution inside the case. Which would need a busboard of Eurorack power connectors to connect more modules.

Sounding a bit daft here, but the case the model D came in, is that not a nice portable eurorack unit ready for some unloved modules to be installed and with it's very own PSU if using a splitter?
@DivKid Жыл бұрын
Hello, it could be but there's no Eurorack style power in there. As it doesn't use the 16 or 10 pin euro power cable for it's own power supply. It might be possible to break it out somehow. I'd be interested if anyone had a solution.

Not really as there's only a few sliding nuts for the model D itself to screw into it. If you could get the case apart you might be able to sort that out.

no problems with the specified 1000mA power consumption of the Model D? Does it really take so much? My Arturia 6U can handle only 1600mA max...
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
I've had it in a Doepfer case with no issues and also a case with Meanwell power supplies with no issues. I don't have a way to measure it. You want to stay below 100% of the power supply so you're not starting to strain anything. However ... best option would be to just keep it out of the rack. Second option use the external power supply and just leave a small gap at the side of the unit to take the power cable into the case.
@1012801236 жыл бұрын
thanks man, would take 70HP of space anyway so I´ll let it outside for now.

Hi, thanks for all your Videos! One question: it is not possible to use the filter itself for other oscillators in the system right? cheers
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
Hi Stani, you can use the external input and turn down the internal oscillators to use the filter with an external source. However that means you loose the ability to use the internal oscillators at the same time and it also means you need to go through the filter and the VCA before hitting the output on the unit.
@sidneybarrett89412 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can patch your other oscillators into the "external input" and mix them in through the dedicated attenuator in the "mixer" section. You can still use the Model D oscillators and noise, but they'll all share the filter/envelope settings. Or, you can get a Behringer System 55 Module 904A filter module and add that to your rack for the classic Moog filter sound.

@@DivKid on my Model D there is a long 2 wire, red and black wire that is attached inside the box to the board that is the back panel. I ended up (last night) fabricating an aluminum panel so that I could use the back panel board in my Eurorack. I figured since it's 1000mA, which takes up most of a Row Power 30, I might as well use the wall wart from the Model D, and still retain the midi switches and the 1/4 in outs that it came with. With a piece of aluminum, a belt/wheel sander, and an 80 year old drill press I made the plate in about 2 hours.. I mounted it to the left of my Model D, right below the Raw Power 30 that powers the rest of the rack. If I had a much larger power supply in this case I might not have done this, but using most of a Row Power and having to buy another one mainly for just this, it would have added ~$100 to the rack for no reason.

there's no power in the case for your modules. So you'd have to put a uZeus, Row Power etc in there. You'd also need more sliding nuts in the rails as there isn't any spare.

Answered on your other comment but I'll quote below ... "you can't take the oscillator out then into the filter. You'd need the mixer VCO levels up full for the mix out to work but then the external input (after going from mix out to the Moslab) would mix with the VCOs again before hitting the filter."

@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
it wouldn't work if the filter was fully open. You'd still have a mix of the oscillators directly going through the wide open filter and not just the moslab. There's no way to turn up the VCOs on the mixer and take their output and separate that from the external input.
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
You could patch the output of the Behrigner with it's filter fully open straight into the moslab then out of the moslab elsewhere.
