It does sound good. If you like all these Behringer modules, get a cheap Monologue to play/sequence them. You can mix the sounds together using the Monologues audio in........

The added semi modular functions are great, patch the LFO into the cutoff or resonance and things start getting weird pretty fast.

I had the original and knew nothing about synths, when I got a sould I liked I put little colored dots/stickers all over it so I could get the sound again! I wish I never sold it, they excel at bass and leads.

Behringer is killing it. The 303 clone is nice, but to me it's better to spend a few more bucks and get one of the clones like this spot on Pro 1. Sounds like they did the poly-mod section right. They don't have memories, but with all the hands on controls, the lack of memory isn't as limiting as you might think. The best thing Behringer is doing is adding duphonic power to these old mono synths, like the Pro 1 or their own Neutron. With the Poly D it really kicks it up a notch to play deep chords or thick unison.

@Bunty McCunty well yeah, hard to argue that. ;) Just saying if you are a kid still in school and stretching your cash, and can only get one now, for just a bit more money it's worth waiting and saving up to something like this. Certainly if you're looking to expand your set up and the 303 is required, now is a great time to be alive!

Dara M yeah totally agree. Watching any Behringer synth review you usually come across complaints of them just being a cloner of other people’s products. Where’s the innovation? They’re not doing anything new! Blah, blah, blah.Whatever you think of the company they do come out with pretty faithful reproductions of retro gear that A) you probably can’t find, B) probably can’t afford, or C) needs to be refurbished/has old parts about to break. Behringer fills a need and does it better than anyone else cranking out all these affordable synths.

On the plus side, I've spent the last 3 years trying to decide whether I can actually hear or only imagine a difference turning the attack on my Moog Mother-32 from 0 to 1. This kind of solves that problem.

Is that why the envelopes sound so flimsy!? It was the first thing I noticed. I own a SCI Pro One and the envelopes and VCA are the main things that makes it sound so good. Everything about the Bro-1 seems good until you start playing with the envelopes and it's just a huge disappointment.

Assuming the comment is serious, it's a monophonic out, you can't just plug it into a stereo jack or you'll only get one side. It only has one channel of audio to begin with.

Cool synth, great price, but sounds nowhere near as fat and raw as the Sequential Pro One. The sound on the Bro-1 is lacking that huge low end the Pro-One is known for. Also, the VCA and envelopes on the Bro-1 are really flimsy. The envelopes and on the (real) Pro One are one of its main attractions. They are powerful and fast. Maybe the snappiest envelopes on an analogue monosynth. The Bro-1 envelopes lack definition and bite. I think it's all down to an inferior VCA circuit on the Bro-One.

Nothing a bit of manipulation inside your DAW can't fix and even improve on from a non clone. BTW, there is no guarantee that an original with old components is going to perform as you say anyway. They are relics now.
