Accent Sweep switch description is very ambiguous... position 2 muffles sweeps (very practical), 0 and 1 change the direction of filter sweeps: lower to higher(going up) and higher to lower(goin down) freqs, you can check it on spectrum analyzer in any DAW

Thanks for this great overview and tutorial 🙏🏻 really got me started quickly 😊 👍🏻 Also got myself the Bassliner app for iOS / ipadOS / macOS M1 (Android?). Happy accidents will more likely occur on the hardware, but the app makes realtime programming the onboard sequencer AND managing / backup patterns sooooo much easier and fun! 👌🏻 Not cheap, but great!

I was hoping to see you talk about the red accent button and why you have to hold it down to keep it engaged and why they didn't make it like the sub oscillator button where once it's pressed it stays engaged until you punch it in again. I feel like this is a big let down in its production and I'm looking to find a means to modify this button to act just like the sub oscillator.

Well it is an accent do that implies it to be a temporary action. You could open it up and replace it with a latching switch. I wouldn't expect any proprietary parts so finding a replacement wouldn't be that hard I guess.

Great demo! It seems like keeping a healthy level of “random” in your mindset is the way to go when learning this thing.

Thank you for the nice video! : ) I'm new to analog synths, but I really want to start from somewhere ... can you recommend which two Behringer synths to get ? May be one of them must be the Crave?
@optoproductions
@optoproductions 3 ай бұрын
It depends a bit on the genre, but I would recommend a polysynth for chords like the Pro 800. The crave is cool, but I would have a look at the Kobol expander too as that provides you with a bit more sound design options.
@BPEMETO
@BPEMETO 3 ай бұрын
@@optoproductions I plan to use them mainly without external keyboard. : )
@optoproductions
@optoproductions 3 ай бұрын
@@BPEMETO ah good point, that limits your options a whole lot. In that case something with a sequencer is a must. I would just check out some demo's and figure out the ones that work for your style, and if you can visite some stores to get some hands-on experience.

@@optoproductions Thank you for the advise! From what I've seen in youtube, I really like the Crave, the Edge, the TD-3-MO, Neutron and RD-6 . The thing I've just realized is that I would need a sound mixer if I want to use all of them together. : ) And I was wondering if they can send audio output via the USB out on the back? So instead of connecting them to a mixer I can connect them to a USB hub and the PC and mix the sound in a software?
@optoproductions
@optoproductions 3 ай бұрын
@@BPEMETO unfortunately those USB ports are only for MIDI and not for audio. So you will need a mixer or a bigger audio interface, that's true.

THANK YOU!!! Just bought mine yesterday with a rudimentary understanding, but this video is brilliant for the finer points! Interestingly, my volume pot has a bit of scratchiness to it out of the box...not like it's something you touch anyway but a bit of a bummer! Otherwise, what a great bit of kit!! Subscribed, really liking what I've seen on your channel so far

Awesome, great to hear! 👍😃 Maybe if you wiggle the volume pot the scratchiness goes away, there might be some dust in it (altough there shouldn't be 🤔)

Noticing you don't have the corner red case LEDs. Did you find a way to turn those off or just block them?
@optoproductions

Oh no, I still got those, but you can't really see them from this point of view. I think these are for the overdrive circuit, so it would be hard to turn them off.

@@optoproductions no it's just too much to ask for a 25 yr old small modified synth. I love it's sound but age is just too much against it when buying fingers crossed from another part of the world
