Nice to see a modeller from the 'economy' end of the range being reviewed and the results reinforce my view that you do not need to spend big bucks to get decent tones. It's worth adding I received a Tuner from this range as a present so I added it to my practice board and 12 years later it's still there and working!

Really like these affordable gear reviews. This amp modeler with its Tweed setting may just be what my Strat and Tele clones need to sound more like themselves.

I have found that the key to these pedals (same with the Behringer slightly larger version!) is to just peg back the lows and highs in your recording software. If you set up an EQ to cut everything below 120hz and everything higher than about 6khz (kind of mimicking a 12" guitar speaker), the overdriven sounds from this pedal sit really nicely in a mix. It is based on the Tech21 Sansamp GT2 which needs the same EQ treatment. Amazing value for money at £20!

Not being a shill here, but I recently Christmas presented myself a zoom g1 four, which has blown me away. Hundreds of fx and 13 (I think) amp models with choice of cabs for 60quid. This has unexpectedly replaced my entire pedalboard and because it takes headphones, the neighbours and wife are pleased too... (Incidentally, including the pedal you demoed....) Great playing, John. Love the channel!

I had to sell all my fancy gear during the pandemic and I thought I was retired from gigging. just when I thought I was out, they dragged me back in. I had gigs lined up and no gear. I took a chance on berhinger pedals after watching the GHS reviews. I chose the tube screamer, tremolo, vintage delay and the amp modler. Having had all of the original versions of these pedals from boss, I can tell you with a straight face that they ate literally identical. for the price of one moderately priced boss pedal, I got five and I am back in business. I don't think I will even upgrade when I have the means to do so. I am getting a kick out of having a board that cost virtually nothing that sound as good as all of my friends gear that they have in some cases a grand wrapped up in their pedals alone. I have been cured of pedal snobbery.

I am amazed with the sounds I get out of my Squier CV50s Strat(w/DiMarzio Area 59 62 67 pickups). I paired it with a Behringer TO800(Ibanez copy) OD, and JOYO Atmosphere. Use it mainly for Blues and Classic Rock. It's perfect. Plug into any house, and your good. After watching another review, I now use it as a bass preamp (Tweed, Clean, Mic in Front) to clean up my Amer Pro II P Bass. Great investment

Hi John! Have you heard of the Mooer Micro Preamp pedals? The are tiny 2 channel digital preamp pedals modelled after various amps. They have a switchable cab simulation. I think they are usually about the £70 mark, but Thomann appear to have some of the models for just under £25 which seem like a steal. It would be interesting to compare this behringer pedal (which I believe is analogue and based after Tech21 pedal that's been around a while) to the Mooer ones (although, unsurprisingly the cheap ones on Thomann aren't simulating the same amps as the behringer!)

Good review. This is a ridiculously low price (under 26 GBP in 2022) for what is very versatile little piece of kit. I particularly love the "Tweed" amp and the degree of response it gives. I can't see why any guitarist of whatever ability shouldn't just get one at this price!

Hey John! I have just purchased the NUX Mg300 for £85. If you need any ideas for a reviews video I would recommend this. My son, who is a producer and sound engineer was quite blown away by it for the money. If I didn't live so far away I'd lend to you but alas...... 😊

Just ordered on Amazon prime £16.99 free next day delivery, what a steel I had a second hand beat up but fully functional Plexi (100w Marshall head) back in the day. So I’m really looking forward to trying this bad boy out. I’ll try it with my MH20 Peavey Head and my Rat FBJ (18w) with a 1/2 power switch. Then try a 10w Vox amp. This will be interesting 🧐

That Brit mode clean was so dirty (which was great, but not for a clean sound)....then again, for a clean tone I go for a Fenderish amp; for everything else I almost exclusively use a JCM 800 model I have (at low gain as a base), with my TC electronic pedals before it to layer on more harmonics and gain (allows me to go from vintage to hard rock to metal depending on the settings). They're only around 40 pounds each the TC Electronics, and better built and sounding (IMO) than the Behringer stuff. I recommend you try out a MojoMojo (used by Paul Gilbert) or also the Spark Booster (the full one, not the small one with just a level control; it is absolutely brilliant) if you can some day. Cheers John!
