Many thanks to you my friend. I have recently purchased the Behringer X2222usb a couple of months ago, but I have had my eye on it for some time. I have been all over the web trying to get any kind of tutorial info, but have seem to only find idiots who think 20 min videos of them unboxing the damn thing is a tutorial!!! Even the Behringer review is just giving you the low down on what it has & "CAN" do. When I finally got the mixer, I pretty much had watched all the Tracktion tutorials (as this was the recording software it came with) & understood most of it without any hands on use. Mind you, I had still been searching for a tutorial on how to use the Behringer usb with the software, or any other programs for that matter. I've know how to use a mixing board for quite some time & even how to record with Cakewalk, only using the one mic through the pc not an audio interface. I wanted to know how to freaking record myself playing guitar, bass, vocals, drums, etc. with the ability to mic my whole drum kit not just one pc mic hanging over the damn thing! As well as mix it all down to a good recording worthy of putting it all out there to others. It's been almost a year I see, since you posted this 2 part instructional, using the smaller Xenyx usb & a completely different recording program...... But "HOLY COW MAN" you are the only one that gave me that key info that helped in my quest to understand the working process of my board. Many, many thanks! :) I'm still learning as I go, but now I'm able to record & record in multitrack. Again, many thanks to your simple. easy to understand & most informative 2 part video! Thanks for not showing me how to take it out of the box! LOL! Kurt; Voodoo on the Side

Thank you very much and glad to hear your getting use to the mixer. I have several videos on the mixer which I fully made use of. The mixer gave me a lot of learning knowledge and understanding which I would share and gave me the ability to upgrade to a more pro digital mixer, which in no time you will also, so thank you and keep it up.

Thanks for the tutorial, genuinely the only thing that has helped me get anywhere with my Xenyx QX2222... just wondering then, as I have a friend who plays drums and he has multiple microphones, would I not be able to use this hardware in order to record multiple microphones at once?

I have two active monitors (Yamaha HS7) plugged in as Main Output in my mixer with XLR cables, and I'm using Guitar Rig software. I can't get the distorted sound from my computer out through my monitors, all I get is clean unprocessed sound. If I use my computer speakers through the "Headphone" jack, it works fine, but I want to use my monitors. Isn't this possible? No matter how I do it, I can't get rid of the clean sound coming out of the monitors.

I have a problem where when Im trying to record, the sound is only coming through in the left ear. Not sure if I missed something here, but I can't figure out what could be wrong. The sound coming from my computer plays in both ears of my headphones, but when Im recording it comes through only to the left. Any ideas?

Personally, I've found the USB in/out to be fairly useless for multitrack recording. The latency is terrible even with the ASIO drivers. You always get a little slapback echo going. I just do things the old fashioned way and run the outputs from the sub channel to my soundcard inputs and run the soundcard outputs to the 2-track RCA inputs and record analog. If anything, it sounds better.
@Jenalgo
@Jenalgo 7 жыл бұрын
That doesn't make any sense.
@ebookpioneers
@ebookpioneers 7 жыл бұрын
Why? The RCA inputs get routed to the monitors. That's the way we've recorded analog since the 80's. Or, you can bring the sound-card outputs into a free channel.
@Jenalgo
@Jenalgo 7 жыл бұрын
Well. Either you've explained that incorrectly, or you've been doing it wrong for 30 years. Because it doesn't make sense.
@jimdoetsch4885

no Charlie is correct. the subs or the Aux sends should feed a true I/O device then how you get it back into the board is a matter of choice, Aux returns/2 track / whatever. Also you set your levels with the gain control not the fader. get your signal to a nice clean 0 VU for recording. when home recording wear a headset DON'T set you levels based on feedback with mics and speakers in the same room that's rank amateur.

Can you explain to me how the compressor knob works and how to use it...
@EliasGadgets
@EliasGadgets 10 жыл бұрын
you really would only need to use the compressor knob to boost or balance low signal levels, sound level. Use it if you want each your connected channels/inserts or sounds to be on the same sound level. For example if one channel sound louder than another.

Hi. Your video was VERY helpful! I have a Behringer xenyx QX1202 mixer. Is there a way for me to use my phone as the output device so that the microphone from the mixer is used instead of the one in my phone while recording videos ?

@cedrick111
@cedrick111 3 жыл бұрын
Nop just the 2 main chanel on the daw ( i dont think it have a way to multi channel whit this mixer the only way i see is to have 2 separate mono chanel on 2 separate track but is not the best.. is good for guitard and bass and other stuf that have just mono on it !! )

no, only 2. 1 mono and 1 stereo or 2 mono only but whichever you can only record 2 tracks / channel.

+Elias Gadgets (Gary) also can you even do mixing on this from the tracks not just use it as an audio interface?
@EliasGadgets
@EliasGadgets 8 жыл бұрын
Arable Desert - nope, i thought it would been 16 channel but whatever i tried, only 2 of anything can be recorded at once or at the same time. The purpose of the mixer is to handle a mix, i.e a band or podcasting and you would use other means of recording facilities which is a pity.
@EliasGadgets

What's the latency like on playback from the computer?
@EliasGadgets
@EliasGadgets 10 жыл бұрын
It's near zero but pretty low latency. it's more apparent while using the onboard effects to the computer where recording is like a second slow but its not that noticeable unless you really are looking.
@TomGranberg
@TomGranberg 10 жыл бұрын
Elias Khan Near zero is 8 - 15 milliseconds, 100 millisecond is a lot.... So hopefully it's that low (without any effects present) especially on playback from the computer.
@EliasGadgets
@EliasGadgets 10 жыл бұрын
Playback is fine, no noticeable delay.

@slcoareschannel1943
@slcoareschannel1943 Жыл бұрын
Bro.... you really need to figure out how to do your videos so that the narration part (the part that you are vocalizing) is "on par" with the output of the mixer. You know... "Normalization". I have to quickly turn down my PC volume every time you have us listen to the mixer, then I have to turn up my volume on my PC when you start talking again. For goodness sakes! I thought you knew how to use a mixer.
