Ali, spend the money on a DJI mini 3. The features you get are exactly what you need as a new drone operator. They will auto hover, return to home when signal is lost, and have an incredible image output.

DJI mini 4 would be good. Much better picture and sensors are good for obstructions. Trees 🌲 are the worst for first drone use though 😜

I’ve just seen a DJI Flip. That looks okay for you and has propeller protection.

Hi, I watched the cheapy drone crash, I got a second hand DJi Mini 3 for about £250, works good, 3 spare batteries & charger ect. Battery life is about 25mins, your restricted to max hight of 120m by law, if you can see it you won't loose contact to it, it will do upto 4k video, you can set it to return to starting location when battery gets low. Just a heads up, I need my phone atached to controler to fly it and see the shots ect. But you can get a dji controller with a screen, then the phone is not needed, they are not cheap, £250 new. It's a whole new world 120m up, you can do 360 or 180 pano shots too. I got mine on ebay btw. just for photo's, I've not got into video yet. bit old for high tech at 68yr old

Does the 120m apply to drones that are 249g? Also, the 120m is based off the elevation of the home point, so its a bit of a grey area. As for the Mini 3 its the best bang for your buck for your application Al.

@ which would more than likely be where you took off from, ie home point. You can set to a maximum of 500m though, which i may or may not have tried.
