Macro social work sounds a lot like public health.

My first research job was at the Research Institute on Addictions, which is now part of my alma mater, The University at Buffalo. My second research job was with the Nathan Kline Institute and the Manhattan Psychiatric Center

My first job as a BSW was a research student for Loma Linda University School of Social Work and Social Ecology. It’s an amazing position to learn how to evaluate data and recommend ways to improve services based on results I found. 👏 Great Video!

I already read those kinds of reports anyway! (that’s available to the public) That’s what got me thinking that I’d like to work in social work, so I did some research and found your videos. It wasn’t until recently that I found out that there’s a way to still work in the social work field without having to take on a carer role and that’s social work research!

Super happy I found this! I’m a sociology major and I want to get into a research job/ internship. My plan is for my senior yr I want to a get research internship. Get a research job THEN get my masters. However I don’t see a lot of internships

@@christianaebeleonyela7170 I did grad school six years ago. I'm sure I did it then but i haven't thought about it since. All schools have their students report on their field placements in different ways. There isn't a universal field placement report that I am familiar with.

Great topic! I have experience working part time as a research assistant while I was an MSW student and full time as a research associate after I got my MSW. Both were very rich experiences that helped me in my clinical practice even to this day.
