I remember reading about Buick Roadmasters and the article talked about the tires that car has from the factory compared to the Chevy Caprice and Cadillac Fleetwood tires. All three cars used the same engine at the time, but the Buick had less capable tires.

Michelin if you can afford them, Cooper is another good brand imo. Also Bridgestone, Firestone, and kumho tires are junk.

This is an obvious promotion for Tire Rack making it questionable content but, admittedly, Tire Rack does more than any other tire vendor I know of with trying to help consumers make better choices. I was just at a tire dealer getting a wheel pressure sensor replaced and, while sitting in their lobby, I heard one sales pitch after another up selling customers to a different and more expensive brand of tires than they came in wanting. There were few objective reasons given it was just “trust me it’s a better tire.” In reality I’m willing to bet the employees make more money selling those tires and that’s the main reason they push them so hard. It’s just like Amazon puts mostly high profit no-name Chinese junk at the top of their search results. At least Tire Rack offers a lot of relatively fair comparison data and doesn’t sell no name sketchy tires.
