Something off with the defendants...her father set everything up with the plaintiff, but then daughter (couldn't she get a sitter for the baby, or did she want Judge M to think 'poor new Mom') and her hubby renege. They just didn't want to pay once they had the computer back in hand. Lesson learned for the plaintiff: obtain payment before turning over a repaired item. Speaking of the plaintiff - very fine looking guy who seems very nice also!

It actually isn't hard to retrieve data... all you need to do is remove the hard drive and put it on an external hard drive. Now he fixed the laptop, it was worth nothing when it was broken. If you brought it to a repair person the repair cost/labor might be much more than a new laptop... on the other hand, a repair person might invest a few dollars and time to fix it and sell. It is the same with cars and any other machines. I have a neighbor who makes his living driving around town picking up lawn equipment on the curb during bulk/thrash pickup, and he purchased a home from the profit.

Getting your computer/laptop fixed or maintained can be very expensive! I had an issue with my laptop in '07/'08 and it cost around $200 to fix it and add an anti-virus program. I did get the anti-virus program added again(after it expired). My laptop was showing signs of virus because I had downloaded...... BEARSHARE!!!!😂😂😂😂
