Aki, thank you my friend. I am an older American gay man who has befriended several gay men on Facebook over the years in both Ukraine and Russia. I try to be very considerate of them as to what topics we talk about because I don't know whether I could accidently get them into trouble. Some of them have been arrested before, some for gay rights and some for that and just protesting Putin. The war has been hard on them in many ways, economically, whether or not they are going to be drafted and generally being worried about the country that they love so much. You have helped me to understand what their situation may be right now. Most of them live in Moscow or St. Petersburg but a couple live in various parts of Siberia. I will keep hoping for the day when they will be able to live and love as themselves. Thank you for answering the questions that I have been wanting to ask them. Я тоже из Тувы и я восхищаюсь твоей храбростью. Помню пару лет назад я создал пустую страницу в хорнете, чтобы посмотреть на геев в Кызыле. Во всем городе была только одна фотография, показывающая лицо - твоя. Мне 22, я не знаю когда смогу совершить каминг аут перед своими родителями и семьей. Сейчас я учусь в Питере, мои друзья из Кызыле и мои одногруппники давно знают о моей сексуальности. Знают все, кроме людей, что должны быть мне ближе всех. Держа в секрете эту часть себя, я будто бы разорвался на две части, что не могут собраться воедино. Одна - моя национальная идентичность, вторая - моя ориентация. Я не говорю на тувинском и в детстве никогда не играл с другими мальчиками - для них я был слишком женственный. Даже сейчас родственники ждут от меня невесты, что усложняет общение с ними. Эта пропасть растет, и я чувствую как теряю связь со своей культурой и с моими людьми. Но тем не менее я уверен что скоро это изменится. Я чувствую как с каждым годом я становлюсь смелее, в частности благодаря таким людям как ты. Спасибо за это видео

Hi, Sj. Welcome to my channel!☺️Answering your question. Back then it was one of the available destinations for a person with Russian passport after Russia invading Ukraine. I chose it also because LGBTQA+ peoples rights are protected and same sex marriage is legalised💖

Thank you for expressing and sharing part of your life with all of us! I am sure that a lot of young people in Russia need that sort of example to come out or maybe better not to come put but run out of the country and left those homophobic people there to fight with themselves or going to the army and fight there! Honestly I believe that homophobia is just anger towards yourself and that is coming from the childhood when parents doesn’t allowed you to be and express your feelings and because that sort of kids then later become angry and jealous on people who can be whoever they are! And suppression of your feelings bring the worst in you and you are just doing the same like your parents did...you try to kill those feelings in yourself and you project that anger on people who are truth and love and they live God = Love and I hope that once people will realize that! Love you!
