I'm a ginger girl and I often had problems with it. Espacially boys called me names, pulled my hair or laughed at me, but sometimes even other girls said really mean things to me. When I got older I learned to love my hair color but I'm still confused when boys seem to be interested in me. Once I talked to a guy who was totally into red hair and he told me that his friends laughted at him because of that. I would never judge someone because of his or her way he or she looks like. And I think that tons of readheaded boys look really hot!

I usually feel a pain in my heart when my bf who is a ginger remarks on the things that ppl say that fingers have no soul, he said he wished he had my brown hair to notice if there was a difference between having a soul or not I smacked him and said that's bs ppl like to say and that I found his ginger hair beautiful much more interesting than my hair and his skin was pretty too very pale compared to my Mexican skin.so yea be proud of being ginger

@@LifeLikeSage thats the issue boi due to the open society and mixing with other hair shades the ppl with recessive genes are likely to drop in frequency.Recessive traits like(amber green(my indian mom's eyes which are very recessive) blue),blonde,redhead ,african berber blonde(different pigment) pacific islander blond(diff pigment).Group of ppl living over the same geography developed same features such as hair and eyes. that explains why blondes and nords are older in europe than any other person. I dont quite understand how redhair evolved from middle east its too hot

I'm a fellow ginge. But it's got much darker as I've aged to a horrid dull boring colour. Used to be gorgeous copper titian colour in my youth ( when I hated it for the attention it used to get). In my family there's loads of it. My handsome nephew (who's a policeman now) has a glorious copper top but I remember something he said when he was very young, & it breaks my heart every time I think about it. He had been looking in the mirror, & turned to his mum and I, & in all seriousness he said, 'when will my hair go black like Daddy's?' Oh! Even at three, he was aware that he was different. The stick kids get is unreal. I just thought to myself, hang in there gorgeous - cos one day, you're gonna be so good looking with that striking hair, and twinkly blue eyes. And yes he is, just incredibly handsome and the nicest, gentlemanly guy I have ever met, (other than his father, to which he is an absolute credit). Just felt like I wanted to share this tale. I'd never point out every brunette or blonde and say hey one for you. Currently have a blonde gf but thinking about adopting, I don't want a kid to go through what I had to go through.

+Ted E Bear Oh I know this problem, I'm a red headed woman and my friends just see me, hanging around with a male red haired friend of mine and say stuff like 'hey you two should breed to keep the gingers alive' it's extremely embarassing, just because he's a friend, doesn't mean I love him...and it just sounds like breeding two special dog breeds to get the best out of both into one and that's just wrong... I mean everyone has the ability and the right to choose who they love and what they like, and it's completely okay to not like red haired women as a red haired man, and the other way around in that kind of possible relationship, but people don't really seem to understand and still think it is okay to talk about and with gingers that way because they are white, I mean, that's no racism at all in their opinion...

I find red hair very attractive. To be honest I have never heard anybody saying anything mean to a red-haired person here in Germany. I heard people making fun about freckles but that is also very rare.

+LITTLEbubblegummm Ich wurde zwar gemobbt, aber nicht wegen meiner Haarfarbe, zumindest am Anfang, später haben sie nämlich herausgefunden, dass rothaarige auch rote Schamhaare haben und haben mich damit aufgezogen und dann kamen die ein oder anderen fiesen Bemerkungen über meine Haare dazu...inzwischen mag ich meine rote Körperbehaarung :'D Aber ich denke als Frau ist das nicht vergleichbar mit männlichen Rothaarigen, bei Frauen ist das ja dann in einigen Fällen irgendwann 'heiß' während die Herren auf der Strecke bleiben....Ich hoffe ich bekomme irgendwann einen rothaarigen Sohn und vermöbel gnadenlos alle die über ihn her ziehen :'D

Nur weil du es nicht mitbekommend hast, heißt es nicht, das es nicht passiert. Und nur weil dein Freund nicht mit dir darüber redet heißt es nicht das er nicht auch mal gehänselt wurde. Ich bin selber rothaarig und bekomme hinter dem Rücken meiner Freunde häufig doofe Sprüche zu hören. Viele meiner Freunde haben es nicht bemerkt bis ich sie drauf aufmerksam machte. Selbst jetzt mit über 20 kommt es noch vor.

I'm naturally a ginger but I started colouring my hair a couple years ago because I am so insecure about it. I was bullied at school so much for it and often when I was in public alone people would yell abuse at me for it. People I had never met before would be so ridiculously cruel. I just don't understand it.

mikkib Damn! Very odd seeing redheads being treated like this in some parts of the west. I' m from Italy... here red hair is quite rare and so there are some dumb prejudices on gingers, although it' s very difficult you would get abused walking by just for that.

If I were 30 years younger, I'd come look for you. After that, it would all depend on your personality and character whether we grew old together or not. I love red hair. LOVE IT. There is no hair color more beautiful than red. Red with a touch of orange and a little bit light is the best shade, but all shades of red hair are beautiful. I have distant relatives who are redheads; my grandma was auburn. All I got was some red highlights. In America, we have this phrase -- being treated like a red-headed step-child. I didn't understand it until I saw this documentary. Don't let those mean, nasty people bother you. They are most likely jealous of a beauty they can never possess. Stand up and be proud -- let that beautiful red hair glow in the sun. You are part of only 3% of humanity that is a natural ginger. Try your luck in America. I think you'll do better here. And you owe it to the world to pass on those beautiful red-hair genes to the next generation.

I always loved Gingers, but never had a Ginger friend :( (and still not) they are in my country hard to find, because only 2% is Ginger in the Netherlands. I always have a crush on Ginger men and Brunette men, but now I have a brunette boyfriend, and I love him. But! I wish a Ginger friend for him too! The redhead days are only 1 time in the year sadly. So it’s very hard to make Ginger friends, even you are a blonde girl with mild autism like me :( to speak with people is hard.
